My w580 has the white screen of death. I want to fix it by flashing it but when i try to back up the GDFS or to flash the firmware XS tells me the phone is not supported. Here is the XS Log:

Note what Ive coloured: CID53

This means that you either have to go to linux and downloading XS++ 4.1 crossfire for backing up your GDFS, or forget the GDFS and download JD flasher which works in windows for flashing the phone. I think you need the test 6 plugin

You got CID53; only free program that supports it for Windows is JDFlasher.

Else if you got Linux then you can use XS++ v4.1 BETA "CrossFire".

Only the XS++ v4.1 BETA "CrossFire" can backup CID53 GDFS now for free.

If you just want to flash it, go use JDFlasher and find CID53 firmwares (those whose names end with "_RED53") from here.

I was able to flash my Main, FS and add a custpack using XS++ 4.1 on ubuntu. However, the problem persists. Everything is running on the phone but all I can see is a grey/whitish screen on the phone.

Is there anything else I can do to resolve this?

Tried JDFlasher and am successfully able to flash it but the grey/white screen of death persists.
Is there anything else I can do?

After flashing multiple times, I think that the lcd screen might be defective. I will try replacing that.
