my mates w850 phone when he turns it on it will not start and will only display a white screen how can i fix this for him

Reflash your phone.

First, you got to tell us what Region your phone is in.

If you can, it'll be great if you can post up a connection log between your phone and XS++

I would, cos then patching and elves is possible if you get the right firmware

i updated it but still have white screen how can i reflash the phone?

Ok, Ive done a little digging for you: the w850 firmware with elves is R1KG001

For the following links, you need to signup there before you can download the files NOTE Ive assumed your from the uk - any different let us know
Use this as your main: http://www.iprotebe.cz/download-W850_R1KG0...r-file8513.html
Use this as your FS: http://www.iprotebe.cz/download-W850_R1KG0...r-file6621.html
And for custom pack use one of the ones built into XS++ ie w850 europe_2

Battery at 100%? Take battery, SIM and memory card out, reinsert battery. Do not turn on
First: backup GDFS: connect phone to XS++, gdfs tab, backup gdfs. Done? Battery out and cable, wait 20 seconds, then reinsert, do not turn on
Reconnect phone to XS++, this time flash tab (it should automatically put you there) Tick all three of the boxes (ie flash main, flash file system, customize file system). Main goes in at the top, FS in the middle, and select your phone model, and select w850 europe_2 as your custom pack
Click flash
Wait for XS++ to complete the flash, phone should automatically disconnect from XS++ when done, take out battery and cable, reinsert sim and memory card and turn on
Then let us know what happens

i did try europe_2 again but still white flashing screen

needs a new ribbon or its the gdfs that is damged try the ribbon 1st

i download w850 gdfs and write them to the phone and now it wont turn on

Thats probably just killed the phone

Never ever flash another person's GDFS. GDFS is specific and unique to each phone.

Well, I dont think it was your fault phil, I think it was before he even flashed it with a new GDFS, take a look at his log:


Dont think ANYTHING would of worked, unless he had a service cable (and even then, Im not convinced it would)

ive had loads off them and from the lcd to the ribbon thats normaly what makes it read as a k700 and the worse it the gdfs but thanks though bud
