so i can add flash themes, acoustics, drivers, etc into my w580i phone and now i want to use the sound slide elf to make my slider have sounds when sliding open and closing. how do i go about to do it exactly? i seen the tutorial but it looks so complicated. my phones stats from XS++ are:

Full Version: Sound Slide Elf Help
Its all possible for your phone to have ElfPack.
Lets start from the basics.
Your phone is using firmware version R6BC002. ElfPack only fully supports R8BE001 and only partially supports R8BA024 now. R8BE001 is of course the recommended one now since its being actively developed and so on.
Knowing this, you have to upgrade your phone to R8BE001 by finding the appropriate firmware files (.mbn & .fbn & the custpack) for your region, just like you did so with your R6BC002, but this time you look for the R8BE001.
Here's a good resource to find them.
Then, you flash your phone with the new firmware as usual (don't forget the CustPack!), and then follow this tutorial to patch the Quick Access patch via JDFlasher to your phone. (Note that doing this will reflash your main again, so don't do any other modifications just yet)
*THIS WILL REMOVE EVERYTHING YOU CURRENTLY HAVE IN YOUR PHONE'S MEMORY. PERFORM A FULL BACKUP OF YOUR FILES & GDFS & WHAT MODIFICATIONS YOU HAVE!
After that is done, follow this tutorial to install your ElfPack and ElfLib.
Once that is done, in that same tutorial, you can find many Elfs with their folder structure in place for you to download. Do ensure that your configuration in those Elfs are what you want by opening the .ini files with Notepad.
But since your objective is to get the SoundSlide elf working on your mobile, you just need the Soundslide elf.

I would use this one as your FS, rather than the APAC one

oh man i flashed mines to the recommended r8be and now im using two tutorials. one is to quick access patch with setool and the other is far manager tutorial. im not sure how to get the setool one to work. i can get it to identify and it shows what the tutorial shows but when i choose quick access patch and searched for the .vkp file and choose write script, it doesnt do anything to my phone.
okay now for far manager, i downloaded the one with the "Far_Manager_With_SEFP_&_jdflasher_Plugins.exe." i started it up and i pressed alt+f1 and chose 'just da flasher' and did the "06) Choose phone as "db2020", the maximum speed and click "jump down into a large rabbit hole" " then it says to click on bflash. i double clicked it. now it gave me an error;
full plugin installation is required. what is going on here?

Setool2lite: Which version are you using? Ie 1.08 or 1.11? If its 1.08 then download 1.11 as 1.08 doesnt support db2020.
However, if youre using 1.11, did you drag your main over to the QA maker.exe (located in the qamaker directory in setool2lite)? Did it generate the patch? Did you select the correct phone model? If yes then show us the log of setool2lite so we can see whats going on with it
As for JD flasher, I dont know. I thought all versions of JD flasher was db2020 modable on CID52?

Ok, so the phone has all the elf patches on it and the dyn_const.bin file all added, directories setup etc?
Right, so did you copy the slide.elf (only, no need to add the ini or any other files to the memory stick) to the daemons folder?
If not, the start the elf by going menu, file manager, other, ZBin and the slider elf, start. It may appear its not working, but it might be in the background.
Next, get back to standby, and slide your phone.
If it makes a sound (which Im sure this elf does by the sounds of it), then all is well and a copy of the elf just needs putting over to the daemons folder to start whenever you start your phone

it was you that managed to get it working
now the only problem im having now with this new firmware is that if i go into walkman and come back out, the light will stay as the walkman color. any way to fix this?

ElfPack is mainly supported only on R8BE001, although there is a pretty old version for R8BA024.
R6BC002 has no elfpack.
Thus, save yourself the trouble and flash to R8BE001.
