I was going to turn my S500i to a W580 and was just wondering what are the chances and where would i have to go wrong to brick it, and if anything goes wrong is it possible to unbrick it or would i have to sent it in...

If you afraid to do wrong....dont try it yourself.

Read the toturial closely,and post out you problem @ se-nse.
Im sure many expert can help you out.

save up your gdfs

take info on your original firmware...

p/s : I have done many convertion eg k800@k810,k618/k610@w660,s500@w580 all on flash cid52,db2010 flashing CID 36/49 brown(forced erom cid/color etc) red without a problem.

You could be a littel clear about what actully you are speaking about.
" BRICKING " is not really understood by many peoples as in for me.
I am using w550i and i neevr got any problems likee that.

First backup GDFS, then there's a very good chance that it will be recovered.

Use XS++ AND Setool2Lite to make backups of your GDFS, just to be on the safe® side.

Whats the word BRICK means? Its like turning your phone into a "brick", make it stop working. make it only useful as a paperweight.

If you backup GDFS, it's pretty hard you brick it by JUST a simple flash.


So, do it if you feel confident...

you cant break ur phone if ur crossflashing, it will be dead by the meaning of firmware, which u can revive. dont worry.

DO IT, EXPRESS YOURSELF!
