Hi. First post Newbie here!

Spent AGES trawling through the net looking to find a way to remove the Orange branding from my new W350i.
Finally managed to install flash drivers (pressing 2 instead of c) only to find that xs++ told me it would not work with my phone!!!

I now know I can flash using Far manager with JDFlasher plugin which will allow me to write to flash and FS, but not read them.

This is what XS++ said on initial connection to my phone:

I know this prog will not work with CID 53 firmware, but the platform is detailed as PNX5230. Does this preclude me from debranding the handset without paying out?

I am a newbie at phone modding, but regularly flash PSP's etc.

What i really need is a walk through for THIS phone to allow me to debrand it IF POSSIBLE!!!!

I am not bothered about unlocking it, just removing the Orange crap from it, and possibly changing the main menu icons would be nice!

I think I have managed to find a firmwar main file (W350_R10BA015_MAIN_GENERIC_JH_RED53) but can't find a FS file. Is it required for this firmware?

I have had the phone connected to JDFlasher, and jumped down that rabbit hole, so I am happy with that side of it.

PS I have a DCU65 cable, is this OK?

Main is correct, I can't find an fs except on topsony. DCU-65 is okay.

The file you have linked me to appears to be a DB2010 cust pack, is that useble with a PNX5230 platform?

it says that W350 is DB2020.

Well, they are wrong!!!
My XS++ log at the top of the post shows as PNX, as does the info in the service menu!!!
I guess this means I am stuck with the orange firmware for now then?

i have the w350 and its not possible to debrand it yet, since it is PNX. Also Jonesy i would advice you to not mess with the file system when you have finished this process as w350 is very easy to harm.

Hey guys. I have a w350i locked to Orange too.

I already flashed main, fs and copied cda, with jdflasher plugin, but my phone still locked.

Can someone help me? i used the same files as silvia26

Flashing the firmware will not unlock the phone.

Oh, i thought i was unlockable flashing the firmware.

So, what's de difference of debrand to unlock? i'm not so good at english speaking ^^

Edit: I think i just get it. debrand is "remove the software and applications installed by Orange (in my case)"

I have to wait for a new version of XS++ to unlock this phone...

Stupid pnx5230 CID 53

You have almost summed up debranding but its not just the applications its all the stuff thats to do with the brander in this case Orange, the stuff like 'Welcome to Orange' on the screen when you switch it on and the themes.

Unlocking means you can change provider for your mobile network in a locked phone you would get the message 'insert correct sim' in an unlocked phone it would just work.
