Hi..i'm a noob to this Sony Ericsson modding..i'm still wondering what is the best FS, MAIN & CUSTPACK for my newly purchased W810i..i have read around and i have a good understanding of what to be done..and right now i just want some opinion before i get my feet wet..

Basically all i want to do is to be able to use flash wallpapers, to customize both the camera & acoustics driver, to able to use both Sysgfx & Elf and lastly to have my phone have lots and lots of patches. Could someone help me decide and advice? Is it OK if i use these?

from what ive experienced..r4ea031 is the best after all for w810i..
about main im not so sure..
many says better to have generic mainware..
the file system n custpack must be corresponded to each other..
means..if ur phone b4 this using europe_2 fs, so u need to use europe_2 custpack also..
in ur case i found that ur region is APAC..
try to find fs n custpack for APAC..
is that helping??
advice: make a back up of ur gdfs 1st b4 flashing okay..

Maybe i'll start flashing my W810i tomorrow after class. I'm only used to modding Motorola, so Sony Ericsson is the next frontier for me.By the way, i can't seem to find any APAC FS & MAIN, i've found only the CUSTPACK. Is this region thing important for the phone to work correctly?

im not sure..but some1 had told me that it depends on the network provider..
like me..im using europe_2 but im from asia..

Ok..i understood..so the FS & MAIN & CUSTPACKS are network dependent. Would you mind telling me what FS & MAIN & CUSTPACK are you using now? Does it works smoothly? I'm feeling the headache now LOL

no, i think they are not network dependent... more like language dependent. what languages you need?

im using europe_2 for fs n custpack..
edit:yes my phone is working fine !

u can use europe_2 i guess..

R4EA031 Main Generic and R4EA031 FS Europe 2 and a Europe 2 custpack. if you can't find the custpack, i'll give you it

you should've used qwerty12's modpack. that customize.xml he put together is really great. that's what i used in my W810.

yesss..it comes with acoustic n cam driver, basic flash menus n themes, start up shut down splah images n sounds, layout.ml, .cer files (i donno what is the function of these file ), n languages..

Would you mind giving me the link to qwerty12's modpack? i think i might give it a try..btw i've just successfully flashed my phone earlier this morning..later i'm going to change the acoustics & camera driver. I'm still getting the hang of Sysgfx & Elf..

Thanks for the link Ciggy..I've tried the pack..it was awesome..but i really wanted to personalize the phone myself..the pack was really great with all the patches and all..but i think it's time i go all DIY..it's been 14 hours since i unlocked the phone and it's been working great, like nothing happened to it at all

I'm from Malaysia, that's why i asked whether i can use the Chinese FS, MAIN & CUSTPACKS. Most of the times i live at a place called Bandar Baru Baru in Selangor, a state in Malaysia. And when i'm free and not doing anything else i went home to my aunt's in Johor Baru. And when i need a time off from everything else, i went to my grandma's in Kuching.

NO, use any cust pack for ur model, it will be ok

but qwerty12's modpack and mattkun's modpack are the best for W810, well the customize.xml that's why i linked him to that.

Ive got sarmads 6.0 cam driver, no operator layout.xml and black ice accoustics and some patches etc on my pc for w810 r4ea031 CID49 red.

Just give me a shout with your emnail address if you want any of them. The site I uploaded them to seems to be giving me the run around (the download links are sending people to google yet I dont have an index file so it lists the files)
