I have been doing searches about changing the internet button, but the posts I've found are all from 2006 and I'm not sure if you can change that Internet button to anything else yet.

thanks
Ly
You can change it to a java app by fs access, or to a function in the phone by patch.

So I wont be using FAR? instead like using XS++ or SEtools?

Does anyone know of a thread that shows this or the needed information to do this?
Ly
Well which do you want to do?
aznherb36
For now I would just change it to java. is the music player possible for that button?

Yes, by patching it might be.

So that requires patching. What about changing it to games with FAR? now will it automatically go to games even if I have key lock?

You don't seem to understand. You can link it to any java app/game (like Opera Mini etc.) with a custom itm-file. If you want to link it to ANY internal phone app/function you need to patch it. Of course it respects the key lock like every other key. smile.gif

oh, so with far I could go into the file system where the internet button is, and overwrite that internet button by adding a game file to replace is?

Is that correct?
Ly
No there is nothing in the file system about the internet button.
But the phone will read a new itm file in the file system, controlling the internet button.
aznherb36
how would I go about doing this with FAR?

thanks a ton, i hate that internet button

Wow! that was easy, just had to copy files into tpa/present/custom. I made it to KD player. I just discovered KD player and I like.

I also found the torch app on there too. glad I found that because it is really useful. Its a torch now!

Thanks
