Ok so I'm due for an upgrade from good ole ATT. Anyway I heard that the z750i has built in GPS but the z750a that att sells (which I assume is the same as the z750i) and by reflashing the phone you can use the built in GPS. Can the att z750 be flashed and if so how? I searched the forums but I couldn't find any information except a thread about someone asking where to buy one as a present for his sister.

Depends which CID and DB it is.

i doubt att would disable gps a main feature of the phone, but debranding the phone with z750a firmware will re move all the branding and limits.

AT&T sucks, as far as crippling phones with their software. I have found there service phenomenal in the places I have traveled, but they are blinded by the iphone and intentionally marginalize all other phones.

I upgraded from a w810i to a z750a, and have found it less functional. I cannot use my HGE-100 with the Z750(or w810, but it's supposed to work on the 750) and the 3G functionality is diminished. I'm new to phone hacking, and will probably try a few things on the 810 before experimenting on the new phone, although I am tempted. Hopefully I can find the time to educate myself confused.gif

I am also wondering if this phone can be debranded for free. Any tips and pointers appreciated. This is my wife's new phone and I don't want to brick it for her.
