what happend...
all the information my friend gave me is that he tried to unlock a w810i from cingular with gsmliberty, his laptop ran out of battery in the process (stupid) and he has a new phone and gave me his w810i which i am hoping to fix.
he gave me the phone, charger, dcu-60 cable, and a TotalMultiServer USB cable

status...
so the phone doesnt turn on at all... no White Screen of Death, nothing! except a red LED in the IR sensor when i charge it, and the LED turns off when i attempt to turn the phone on...

so far...
i have downloaded xs++ 3.1 and the USBFlash driver

i tried following the instructions for installing usbflash driver (take out/reinsert battery hold "c" and plug in), but it seems that i cant get the computer to recognize my phone and the harware wizard doesnt start, is there a manual method to installing the driver (without phone)?

install ggsetup.exe.....

after that...connect ur phone with c button hold...

it should instal the driver...

try other usb port...

Sounds to me like dead erom or damaged GDFS which is why he has given it to you

while flashing k750 i left it and went out. when i came back and say my laptop screen turned white/hanged .i removed the phone and tried to start it did not start at all.no led light in infrared.nothing.maybe its totally died.

thanks for the advice, but i just cant get the computer to recognize my phone as any device even after the battery/hold"c" manuever, i think that the battery isn't charging, charged it all night. now i woke up and tried all this, but its still the same.

maybe i need to borrow a different friends charged battery?

is the TotalMultiServer USB cable i got with it any use at all? is it the same as a cruiser? and

Try with the standard DCU cable

If its still not connecting I would suggest that its dead

It is definitely worth fully charging the battery in another phone then try it with the standard cable.

you could also try setool2lt and hold 2+5 instead of C.

alright, problem was battery...

finnaly got the phone to enter into flash mode, repaired with setool, then unlocked/customized with xs++...
AWESOME!

the only problem is i need a new battery, the battery that came with the phone does not charge at all even when put into a different w810, but my friends battery charges fine inside my w810...

after i buy a new battery, i guess my problem is solved, and i will be the proud owner of a working, unlocked, and awesome w810i!

Good news and batteries are not too expensive.
