Hi - Another total newbie to all this, but promise I've read (& watched) tutorials, searched this board & others but am still stuck on this prob' - So any help/pointers etc welcome.

Phone is ye olde D750i that I'd like to unlock from T-Mobile.
Know its VIP to backup the GDFS 1st so am trying to get the .bin file - Here's the log - or screen readout from SETool2 Lite V1.10 -

Welcome to SEtool2 ( LITE edition ) v 1.10

FLASH CID detected:49

OTP LOCKED:1 CID:36 PAF:1 IMEI:35657*******53 CERT:RED
DCU60 flashing only supported for RED CID49 phones !
Elapsed:21 secs.

This is as far as it will go when I run "Identify" - then "Read GDFS" (unpluggin phone & battery out in between)
Kinda confused by the "OBSOLETE EROM,FORCING CID -> 49" lines - Is it saying the chipset is obsolete? and that SETool can only flash phones using a DCU60 cable which are CID49 and above?

My big question = Is it not possible to unlock a CID36 DB2010 phone using SETool2Lite and a std DCU60 cable? - And that's why SETool stops at the above place?

Gotta ask, 'cos I've read both "No it's not possible" and "Yes it is" - on diff' sites - Hoping someone can clarify!

Thanks

Why dont you use XS++3.1? Its 100 percent possible smile.gif

Its much easier, and you wont get error messages like that.

EDIT: with CID36 red on a d750 I would probably flash it to w800 CID36 red as the d750 is the t-mobile branded version of the k750 but w800 is exactly the same hardware but the w800 comes with a walkman feature smile.gif

Yeah, attempt XS++, or maybe flash new EROM. But it's strange that your phone works and SE Tool can't read the CID, if it even has any, which is... unheard of
Ciggy
CID36 is old but setool2 lite should have still been able to perform its operations.

For db2010 cid:36 far+sepf is the only tool you need to mod everything, patch, change drivers etc.

Am just wanting to backup GDFS before hopefully unlocking the D750i - as shown above. The copy of XS was d/l from this forum, and I've no prob's with any other s/ware on the PC - Win 2K SP4, AMD 64 X2 ,DDR2 4GB etc.
I've been checking with the tutorial on XS++ on this forum, but I never actually get as far as the 1st screenshot in the tutorial - just gives above readout then seems to lockup - only way to end prog is via Tsk Mgr.

Could it poss' be corrupt drivers? - Only flash driver I appear to have installed acc' to Device Mgr shows as "USB Flash" & it's "Epiusb.sys" V1.0.0( C\WINNT\System32\Drivers).
Had a scan at the flash drivers tutorial but all seems to be XP and Vista - not sure if drivers would be compatible with 2K.

Have had a look at Farmanager but gave me even bigger headache, so am hoping XS can do the job unsure.gif
Thanks again

try these usb flash drivers http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?autocom...mp;showfile=764 .

Thanks for quick reply - Tried d/l and install - XS still crashes after initial connection to phone.

Thinking it must be a driver prob' as it sometimes knocks out my USB kybd and mouse - have to unplug/plug in kybd(mouse is connected to usb port on kybd).

Cannot uninstall this SE Epiusb.sys driver - soon as phone is connected Windoze prompts "Epiusb.sys is needed" - cannot install another driver instead of this & still get phone to be recognised.

Am guessing there's prob' a real basic answer to this - it's turned into a mission now confused.gif
WizaJ
I don't think the flash drivers are compatible. Why not upgrade to XP? Your PC's specs can take it
