I stopped after learning the R9A036 main is out-dated after reading threads here.

If I successfully find a topic with a link to a file, it's a dead link.

Then I read this reply:

Now following the above instructions.. I cannot find the custompack spoken of. Also, the original guide above, his link to the custompack is dead as well.

All I want to do is get rid of Cingular's crap off the phone. I have an unbranded K750i bought new, unbranded, and that's the way I like it.

Will someone help? I've done about all I know to do as far as searching, researching, googling, etc.. and I'm stuck.

Easy, just go to topse.ru, register there, download generic W300i firmware, flash it, then patch it with the unlock patch. After you do that, you'll have a debranded unlocked W300i ready for (ab)use

I've flashed the MAIN and the FS with various different versions, matching versions, generic MAIN.. etc

Everytime I start the phone it says:
1. Please wait.....

2. Start Phone, Music Only. (I enter Start Phone and then..)

3. Configuration Error. Please contact your service provider or service center.

And in XS++ I saw this:
Warning: IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:NULL GDFS:W300)
...using GDFS name

Also,.. with XS++, when trying the unlock patch.. the "Execute Patch" button doesn't activate so I can't run it.

I just fixed it.

USING:
W300_R4EA031_MAIN_NAM_1_JE_RED49
W300_R4EA031_FS_AMERICA_1_RED49

I was getting the configuration error still. I noticed in XS++ it said America 2, so I changed the customization to America 1 and now everything works.
