EDIT: Okay, I found that I updated my CID to 53, which is currently unmodable. See 3rd post.

Okay, so I used XS++ while trying to add more Walkman themes to my phone. I created a folder inside the skins folder () so I didn't have to replace the existing themes like I would need to. I then uploaded all of the theme files in the new folder I created. This didn't work, so I restarted my phone and XS++. I then deleted the Theme folder I created, and restarted XS++ (I had to for changes to take effect on FXS). I the restart XS++ again, run FXS, and the folder is still there. I tried the same thing again but to no effect. I then uploaded all of the new themes files over one of the default themes. This is where something went wrong. I then started up my phone, went t the Walkman player, and all the skins were gone, and the current skin was set to off. At first the theme looked like the default black theme but then after I went fro My Music>Artists, the Artists names don' show up. I then tried messing with XS++ for a bit but to no effect.

I then tried to re-debrand my phone using SETools. I followed this tutorial (which worked the first time I did it.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLvlDJ9B98E&feature=user

Weird things started happening, and I realized my phone was dead. So I recharged it to about 80%, and tried to debrand it again. This is the error I got on SETools...

Thats what happens after I try to debrand it again.

I then decided to try and rebrand it by using SEUS, which I heard works. It updated the firmware, but it didn't debrand it.

I then decided to try XS++ again. I then started it up, and tried to run FXS again...
I got this error

I just want to fix the Walkman player. Nothing else is wrong with it. I do want to be able to further customize it using XS++. If someone can help me I would be eternally grateful. If there is another easy to use program to debrand my phone that would work to.

I know nothing about firmware or custom packs. I am using as my main system firmware...
W580_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52.mbn

And as my File System firmware...

W580_R8BA024_FS_C_ASIA_RED52.fbn

and as a MISC/Custom package...
W580_CDA102568_7_R8A_GENERIC_C_ASIA.zip

I am using Gordons Gate Flash Driver.

Even rebranding my phone would be useful, which I have not been able to do. Just fixing this would be nice.

Thanks to anyone who can help. My email is XSafire@gmail.com, if you would like to email me.

Why does everyone always update with SEUS? You now have CID53 so you have to use jdflasher. This is Sony's way to try and stop modding sad.gif

Well just reflash your firmware and it should work.

http://www.mobilejunkies.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2281 for tutorial

http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=17857 for FAR plugin jdflasher (download attachments with 53 in name)
XSafire
Alright, in the tutorial it says I need the firmware to match my CID#, in this case is CID53.

QUOTE
And the next highlighted line is an important one, the EROM CID#, in my case its 52, my Firmware MUST match that number....

I have the CID52 firmware, but will that work with my CID53 phone? Since it says I need the same CID# firmware as I already have in my phone.

EDIT: From what I've read (and now understand), this wont work. But I have heard that jdflasher will work, but I haven't found any tutorials on how to do this. I have also heard that the CID53 firmware is released and out there, but you need to register to the site that has it for a month until you can get it.

So will the tutorial you gave me work if I input my CID52 firmware into it? Or will it just do something else like downgrade it.
XSafire
Alright, I fully understand CID now. Can someone please find me the CID53 firmware, or a site were they have the release date?
steadyontherem8
seusers.com but it has restrictions.
KrX
Yup like you mentioned, that site needs you to wait a month before being able to download cid53 firmwares.

CID53 phones can only be flashed properly with a CID53 firmware. Flashing it with a lower CID like CID52 will NOT downgrade its CID. It stays at CID53
XSafire
so they are the only ones with CID53 firmware?
steadyontherem8
Yeah, except topsony but you know about topsony. sad.gif
