Hi all!

Well, I dunno if this is possible, and if it is, how I can do it, but I'm interested on this. I need my phone to be identified as a v600i or v630i so that I can download vodafone messenger (although they say it is not compatible with this phone, I believe it will work). And as they seem to verify what is the phone, maybe this would solve the problem.

Is there any way to do the trick? Already tried with customize.xml but I think it is not working.

How the hell do they check the phone model? Do you have any idea? I really need this function. And I know it will work, on my old operator they have "soon" on k750i so they probably are just making adjustments or something.

It is very strange, even in myVodafone they have "My phone: model- k750i/k750c" how do they get this info? I want the damn messenger.

I mean, they have access to my phone model, I don't know how, but they do. Isn't there a way to change that info they get? I thought it was by phone model but it seems that I was wrong.

Well, that makes sense. Is there a way to change the IMEI like this? cda I think it can be done on customize_upgrande too right?

EDIT: In times there was a prog to change a k750 to w800 through SEUS but we couldn't turn on the phone, so I bet this won't work.

When you change your IMEI,you will do a very illegal step.
So try to change CDA,and maybe you need a Vodafone Branding Firmware.

Ok, I'm trying CDA now. Picked up the vodafone portugal cda, my customize_upgrade must be something like this then, right?

It is placed in the custom files for v600i. So that I could take a look at the custumize file and see what else I could change, even if it seems it won't work at all.

But I can't find that file in any other site. Also searched in sek750.pl. Please someone download that file.

Just a friendly warning don't do this on a phone that has trackID or you will not be able to identify tracks I found that out to my cost the website trackID uses will not recognise your phone I did it on my k800i flashed to a k810i and found I could no longer use it.

I think you must edit the wap settings and the Wap-user-agent. This is somewhere in tpa/preset but dunno where... search .xml files with wap settings...

It may seem strange to you, but I do prefer the messenger. I never used trackID before, and I could save the files somewhere on the pc and then flash the phone and upload them again right?

I had an account, but I didn't used it for too long and they deleted it. Now I'm with 0 posts and so I can't download from there, and I can't find the file in other sites.

I didn't know that. Let me get this straight, don't change phone model name in service menu otherwise trackid breaks right? How about the phone status menu, if you change phone model there, does trackid break??

I am not sure I changed both back to be on the safe side I use trackID a lot as I use it to ID music off the radio as a channel I listen to does not always anounce the track that was just played.

Just checked in status and service menu both are back to k810i so I assume its both why not have a test yourself?

At least in my phone when I changed it through customize_upgrade as All_Star said it changed both places.

About my problem, can anyone download that file and post here?

wow wow wow, do you mean you have a k750/w800 and want to put v600 or v630 firmware on it?
if u just gonna try this I think SeTool/XS/Far Manager or whatever won't let you do that, but if it will, U'RE PHONE IS DEAD FOR GOOD! I mean K750 has db2010 procesor, and V630 has db2020, do you even except to start up? well you can try, at least do a gdfs backup before, so you will may revive it this way, but... you could try do download the firmware from Iprotebe or some other...

I'm not about to do anything like that, god, I feel some love for my phone.

I want to watch v600i/v630i custumize.xml file so that I can see what else I can change in my w800i custumize.xml to try if that works, got it?

And btw, I can't find the file I requested at ANY other site, dunno why but it simply isn't there.

I just needed the files once my account was deleted and now I'm not allowed to download.

I've already answer.. And i leave here both applications, real Vodafone Messenger and Messenger by SFR. The first one gives error in my phone... the second one appears to work fine, but im out of credit so its hard to say if it will work 100% . Try them and then say something.

Hum, when I try the Vodafone messenger it gives an error, something like an update error and then it gives some more (java IMO) detailed info. The second one seems nice (but I'm also out of money and couldn't test it ).

I wanted vodafone messenger because with my actual price plan it is a free service.

Olha, o vodafone messenger arranjaste na net ou sacaste mesmo do link que eles dão quando mandas uma msg po número 12345? é que se eu mando a msg eles dizem que não tá disponível po meu telemóvel. E eu já tinha tentado um ficheiro que achei na net (acho que para um n70 ou assim) só que deu-me este mesmo erro. Tava na esperança de não ter este problema com um ficheiro de um telemóvel mais semelhante.

É assim, o Vodafone Messenger que postei arranjei na net, pois o meu v630i está flashado com o fw do w660i, logo acontece-me o mesmo que a ti quando peço a aplicação... Entretanto já experimentei ambas as aplicações, e já com saldo e mesmo assim nenhuma delas funciona! Penso que a única maneira será por exemplo usando o v630i do meu irmão que não está "mexido" (lol) e pedir a aplicação, e depois então sacar o ficheiro .jar. Eu acho que já li como fazer isso em algum lado... É uma questão de experimentar... Ah, a propósito já conheces este fórum: http://www.clubesonyericssonpt.com/smf/ ?

Realmente é mais fácil dessa forma. É assim, depois de instalado é fácil. Também dá para aceder ao FS do v630? se der os ficheiros java que instalas andam algures numa pasta com esta "estrutura" (pelo menos no k750/w800 não sei se serão muito diferentes ou não):

No k750/w800 é aí que ficam os ficheiros java todos (.jad e .jar). Era fixe se conseguisses arranjar isso.

Quanto ao fórum, há um anito andei por lá, mas não me cheguei a registar. Vou fazer isso agora.

Guys, I need some help.

I sent an e-mail to the vodafone support and told them if the messenger will be or not available to w800 (once k750 is branded to another operator here in Portugal, it would be useless ask for it ) and if not, if they would create a solution to the other phones that are not compatible. As I asked another thing (about my price plan and a bonus I should receive and I didn't), they asked me some things:

- Password ( couldn't understand );
- original PIN;
- PUK;
- IMEI.

My problem is the IMEI. If I'm going to tell them my IMEI they will know that I have a k750i and not a w800i, right? What about if I ask why they need my IMEI once it is a very confidential info? Maybe they wouldn't ask for it again?

BTW, I already tried a V630i version, and didn't work. It is weird, in fact they're different phones, but I can't understand why there isn't already a version to k750/w800/k700 etc.
