I have a problem with my pm service so dont pm me!! Ask away in this thread!!

The n00b's official, unofficial guide to installing the elfpack!!

First of all : What are elfs??
Elfs are standard unix binary executable files (like windows .exe). Every program is distributed like independent file. It's possible to run elf files on Sony Ericsson phones.

Their benefits of Elf files over Java(apps and games) include:

* Speed
* Ability to use all phone resources (processor instructions, ram, etc.)
* Ability to do whatever you want

The program is directly using the processor and memory resources, without any virtual machine limitations. In other words - ELF programs are faster programs.

The Installation Guide:

K750/W700/W800:
Create 2 folders "ZBin" and "Config" in "Other" ( in phonememory) and a folder "Daemons" in "Other" (in memory stick).
Put the "DYN_CONST.bin" file in the "Config" folder ( in phone memory).
Put all elfs in the "ZBin" folder ( in phone memory).
Put those elfs in "Daemons" folder"(in memory stick) which you want to start with your phone(they'l start when your phone turns on) .

W810/Z550/W550/W600/K770/K790/K800/K810/W830/W850/W660:
Create a folder "ZBin" in "Other"( in phone memory and also in memory stick) and then a folder "Config"( in "ZBin" in phone memory) and another folder "Daemons" (in "ZBin"in memory stick).
Put the "DYN_CONST.bin" file in "Config" folder ( in ZBin in phone memory).
Put all elfs in the "ZBin" folder (phone memory).
Put those elfs in "Daemons" folder"(in memory stick) which you want to start with your phone(they'l start when your phone turns on) .

W580:
Create a folder named "Daemons" and a folder named "ZBin in "Other" in the memorycard.
Create two folders in "Other" in phonememory named: "Zbin" and "Config"
Put elfs into "ZBin" in phonememory or the memorystick(your choice)
Put those elfs in "Daemons" which you want to start with your phone(they'l start when your phone turns on) .
Put the "DYN_CONST.bin" file in "Config"

W610:
Make a folder "ZBin" in "Other" in phonememory.
Now make a folder "Config" in "ZBin".
Also, make a folder named "Daemons" in "Other" in phonememory.
Put all elfs in "ZBin"
Put those elfs in "Daemons" which you want to start with your phone(they'l start when your phone turns on) .

Important:

Put all .ini files(that you get with some elfs)in phonememory/other/ini(you have to make the folder if it doesnt exist)
Put all .cfg files(that you get with some elfs) in "Config"

After this, install the two given patches(elfpack and elf lib) with SEtool2 Lite/SEFP/JDFlasher

For those elfpacks which dont have a DYN_CONST.bin, just install the two given patches.

Don't install them with GFlash as there's a possibiblity of errors!

Also, tpa/user/other means Phonememory/other
and card/other means Memorystick/other

Note: Only use the elfpack for your phone AND firmware otherwise all you'l get is a dead phone. If the elfpack is not available for your firmware, quit whining and flash to the required firmware and STOP spamming the developers with requests for the elfpack for your firmware. They're people too and they also have lives.

@thugz great idea.
Newbies, if you have a W580 and when you conect in usb mode dont show the card memory you can use the FAR or XS++ to add news into the folders.

And if you dont have a card memory, you can change all folders to the phone memory.

u can also use myphoneexplorer i use it for w800.u can drag whole directory from pc to phone

create:
/usb/other/ini <-ini files
/usb/other/ZBin <-elfs
/usb/other/ZBin/Config <-dyn_const.bin + other config things
/usb/other/ZBin/Deamons <-"autostart" elfs (start on phone startup)

Hi. Im new to this elf. I wanted start modding my phone my phone with it but I dont have any idea of what it does.

what is elfpack patch? there are two patch for elf right? one is elflib and elfpack.. is the elflib is the only patch that is updating time to time or also elfpack?

of which elf?? the start keys of every elf are usually specified with the download!! for the key modes, check the ini file with the elf(if it has one) and/or the readme given with it!!

i can manage to start it but i can't switch to the tasks.
whenever i press "select" it doesn't switch to..

Highly likely, as long as you have elfpack installed. Check the config files if you need to change certain settings.

Actually, you can't install elves on S500. To have elves you must crossflash it to w580.

Hi guys

Im looking at getting my w810 (cid49 colour red firmware R4EA031) elved.

It wont be for a little while yet, but Im just looking to see what elves are availible for it

Ive downloaded the w810_r4ea031.rar file (contains three files: DYN_CONST.bin, ElfPack_v10.vkp, and w810_ea031.lib.vkp which the vkp must be flashed to the phone and the other goes to phone memory (forgotten where but its on this thread willl reread it nearer the time Im ready to elf it))

Only question is where do i get the libraries from? I assume thats what the elves are in?

Im particually interested in the screenshotter elf but all elves will be welcomed
