You don't apply the menu.ml file. You just have to upload it to /tpa/preset/system/menu

Make whatever changes you want and upload it using XS++ (FSX option) or FAR

Did you flash your phone with the .ssw file? That's the only way you can use FAR

K, stupid question but are you keeping the "c" button pressed while connecting the cable? Keep it pressed till it says phone detected

Yes... i have done that.. Holding "c" button while connecting to far manager... but it gets switched on only wen im accessing "FS".. No problem with Flash..

Np dude, sry can't tell you what's wrong with FAR

Use FSX in XS++ and upload menu files to tpa\preset\system\menu and i think layout to tpa\preset\system\layout. Do NOT make a new layout folder if that is not the correct path.

And FAR is the best for such type of OPs. When your phone switches on, it means you didn't flash the FAKE MAIN right. Is your phone CID49? or 36? and which .ssw did you flash?
