Hi, basically I'm bored with lots of time to kill. That's how I found about this forum a couple of days ago and how much customising can be done. I want to know what else can I do with my cell (no hardware mods pls) I've already done the following

1. Increased sms capacity (basically that's what got me started when I got frustrated with 200msgs limit while some of my nokia friends sported 3k+ messages)

2. Changed drivers, acoustic, display, camera

3. Edited layout.xml to remove logo, scrollbars and menu.ml to change icons and create custom menus

4. Used sysgfx to change battery and signal pics

a lot more. It's not how much "you can mod" but what "you want" to mod.

Got MAIN from there only. And inspite repeated reassurances from kirpeace and you that nothing will happen if I install different version FS, I'm still hesitant to proceed.

You see I'm still quite new and hence still reluctant to experiment a lot

You don't need to be affraid, my phone was that way a lot of time. I changed main and let the same FW, nothing happened to me. Then I decided to change FS too. Just don't forget NEVER to backup all important stuff you may have when you flash FW, because you'll lose a lot of things.

You can combine a different version of a MAIN with another FS

It seems that the majority opinion is for a mixed flashing

I use a different MAIN/FS too.
The differences in the FS of the same model of phone are not very different.
And about the sig thing, look at the top right corner of every post, there's a number. That number also acts as a link, copy that link location and use the URL option in your sig editor, then type what ever text you want to appear there. But since I'm such a nice guy, I've included the BBCode for your condition below
