SETool 2L may be damn slow to compute & patch *big* .vkp's... Generally, SysGFX patches are big enough to take a long time...
Ciggy
but not that long. sysgfx patch didn't take long to apply on my W810 (R4EA031 Generic) using setool2 lite 1.08
muffyn
hmmm... well, I restarted it shy.gif soo... how long will it take?

EDIT: Should i hold the "C" button down too?
Ciggy
not if it's already connected
depeha
haha... you must have cid 49 red to patch (I think you have that), so it needs reconnect while patching. when setool writes something like "unplug cable/bat, insert bat back and click on ready", do it, and after that click on "ready" button on right panel wink.gif
Ciggy
@depeha

not necessarily. there are some W810 owners with brown erom CID 49 who were able to patch their phones. but setool2 lite can't patch brown phones. JDFlasher can laugh.gif
Wally_Dog
Here's my rule of thumb for patching:

When you need to hold down C for Setool, hold it down until you have to unplug cable, remove battery, etc. When you reconnect, hold down C until it asks Yes or No. Then when you do that, it's OK to let go of C for the remainder of the session.

Sysgfx patch should not take an hour... took me about 3 minutes. If it's not saying patching block"#", then it has bugged, and you will need to retry it. The amount of time it takes if usually the number of blocks that need to be patched. An easy way to assume the amount of time is to look at the .vkp file, and each line is 1 block. Count every block, and assign around 1-2 seconds to each. That is the amount of time it should take to patch.

Well I cant hold the "C" button for that long... I mean the 1-2 hours.. but ive restarted it a few times now, and it doesnt work... should i re-download the SETool2lite?

Damn, you *really* meant 1-2 hours ? Thought it was an image... Are others VKP Patches also freezing your SETools2L ? Or just that SysGFX ?
nknwn666
i got the same problem on a k800@k810 cid52 red, at every patch it stays too long,in the time that takes to add a patch in that phone i can reflash and modify another, lol, anyone know wats the problem?

Yeah, I watched a movie yesterday too... It were still patching when I checked, And I dont know any other VKP patches that I am going to try out... BTW: Ive downloaded a new SETool2lite, v1.11 (see pic) is it real?

EDIT: Should the loading Bar go full then restart and go full, and so on?
muffyn
HOORAY I did it! I think i installed the patch!
Ill post later. And tell u if it worked happy.gif
muffyn
Ummmm okay it didnt work... thumbdown.gif What should i do, I follow all the instructions and everything...

Hmmm, the log says "Block @ $456C0000 read error. Have only: 00000000 bytes
Elapsed: 13 secs."

Does anyone recognise this?

And this unplug, pull out battery etc. doesnt show up...
shnsqr
this patch usually dont take more than one minute
I have w810 R4EA031 patched with sysgfx patch and it works nicely

Maybe a non-alpha patch works? Where can I find a non-alpha patch? confused.gif
Ciggy
there is only an alpha patch. here's the one i'm using:

;Version 2 - Startup animation not needed, choices
;To the choosed directory (def. /usb/other/gfx) save your graphics in XXXX.PNG (def.) / GIF format - depends on choice,
;where XXXX is the HEX number of the replaced image

Yeah, about that... Ive tried XS++ before... I really need tut or something thumbsup.gif cuzz it doesnt make sense to me...
muffyn
@Ciggy

Ummm... that doesnt make sense to me... did u dl it from this forum? cuzz I did
If u didnt, can u post a copy of it for me plx? thumbsup.gif
Ciggy
i got it from here. but it's working. just copy it from the code box above, paste it into notepad. then click save (select type as all files) and save it as sysgfx_alpha.vkp be sure to include the .vkp as this is the file type.

btw, your phone is CID49 right?

Umm... exactly, hoow do i check that? happy.gif
steadyontherem8
Plug phone into XS++ or setool2lt.
muffyn
Okay, I did what u told me, I used ur patch and everything, but this time it says
"Will execute script now."
And then
"Phone detached"
"Elapsed: 25 secs."

Pretty wierd huh?

And I think Ive got CID 50 RED... I pushed Identify and it said that happy.gif
Ciggy
that explains it all. sorry to burst your bubble but your phone can't be patched.
muffyn
Wh-What??! I cant? cry.gif Cant I degrade it to CID 49 or something!?!
Ciggy
nope. CID can only be upgraded not downgraded.
