Full Version: N00b Question on Acoustics with FSX in XS++

I have uploaded a few different acoustic packages and have not been able to tell any difference.

Using Cingular branded w810i, still running original firmware/FS etc.
I used XS++'s beautiful FSX function to upload the following files:
farfield_call.apf
handset_0_call.apf
handset_1_call.apf
After which I'd disconnect, turn on the phone, and call voicemail to test it.

ALL I'm looking for is a little louder/clearer sound from the earpiece of the handset (my understanding is that it's the farfield_call one) and a clearer speakerphone. Honestly, I cannot tell a difference in loudness among the Cingular, the SE Original, TVH, Wow II, and ToShaRa's....

This implies to me that
a) my expectation is wrong
and/or
b) my process is wrong
and/or
c) my ears are wrong

Could someone please shine some light on this for me? Did I screw up, miss a step, something else?

Thanks,
b

What is it about an acoustic pack that links all the files together like this? It is the NOTEDOUB.CFG file?

I was under the impression anybody could merge files from varying sources, picking and choosing which ones they want.

Thanks for any info,

You can use different acoustics from different packs i do the reason you hear no difference is because in most packs the call files arent modded so find a pack where it states the call files are modded

Ah, I see, thanks for the info.

I *think* TVH said he modded his, I'll maybe contact him directly.

Thanks for the info!

I think I found one that's actually made a noticeable loudness increase. Problem solved.
