Hey there guys and gals, I hate to subscribe to a forum just for answers but, I have honestly tried everything I can find.. By the way, I am a complete newbie to everything I am talking about, so I apologise if I have anything wrong..

I attempted to unlock/debrand my Z610i using XS++. Well, today I found the files I thought I needed on iprotebe.cz. Started up XS and uploaded the Main and FS.. Everything went kinda smooth and I thought everything was gonna turn out ok.. *wrong!* nope, everytime I turn the phone on, I get a nice little message telling me "Configuration error. Please contact your network operator or service center.", kinda scary.. and after looking around I think I have missed a crucial step called "finalising"?

Another forum mentioned I will need a custompack but, I don't know what they are, what they do, or where to get one!!

Starting to think it would be easier to just take it to the market and let them hack about at it.. Anyway, the phone was locked to Orange if I helps?

Any information/support you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated!!

Andrew.

Dont send it to a shop! its so easy, just search this site for custpack, or custom packs, its really easy, you can get them from here: www.iprotebe.cz

u haven finalized with ur custom packs

Thanks a lot for the reassurance, so how do I use the custompack in XS++? There does not appear to be an option to select the pack?

Cheers!

In xs++ when u have the flash main firmware box,and flash filesystem box, under the file system u have the customize(you need to check that!) than you will have an option 2 choose a custompack 2 use...
p.s if you have your own custompack downloaded somewhere on computer choose in drop down menu "own custpack" I think it is called like that smile.gif
Good luck!

EDIT:when u choose the own custpack option surely you'll need 2 choose the custpack of yours lol smile.gif

As long as it is switching on I don't care what else is wrong with it! smile.gif

It doesn't seem to want to update, but I don't think that will make much of a difference..

You guys get better and better!! smile.gif

After a few hours of pratting about with SE-Tool2lt and SimLockPatch finally got the phone unlocked..

but now.............

After I unlocked my Z610i, I decided to do my W850i too... and that hasn't gone down as well...

All the phone menus appear to be messed up and I have a nice message telling me..

"Errors occur in the menu.ml file. This may render the menu unusable."

I have had a look around and I think I might need to reflash with the newest firmware for my handset.

Any chance someone on here could shed some light on the situation and let me know if what I think I should do is correct.. smile.gif

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaanks!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedit...

Right, well I think I sorted it, got my dads phone (which is the same) and ripped the menu.ml file off and stuck it on mine.. however, even with my custom theme the icons just won't match.. should I rip and replace all the files?

Also, this happens on the first image... text overlaps.. ("Menu" & "Activity")..
