I bought a K770 that is branded with an italian operator - TIM (and I'm not from Italy). It was absolutely brand new, not even turned on before and it has a generic main and accepts all kind of simcards, but it has TIM startup screens, custompack and instead of menu on the right softkey, it has a browser. I'd like to reflash it with SEUS to get rid of that content, but I'm afraid that it was unlocked by patch and it would relock itself.

What do recomand? Should I flash it with setool light?

TIM phones are not sim-locked or op-locked; a branded K770i has only some limitations such as being not able to select 3G/2G or 2G only, and some other software restrictions, along with custom icons and images. I debranded it with SETool and now it shows its full potential

Thank you snefu for clarifing that! I have reflashed the phone with the newest firmware, after saving the custompack (just in case...). All working fine, including flash menus

i have this phone too with TIM brand.. i want to rebranded this hp but i dont know how.. can somebody teach me how to rebrand this TIM hp..

yes.. i want to debrand it to original euro central or APAC coz i dont like TIM put his menu on k770i menu like shortcut to TIM website etc.. can i do this ?? and i don't see in this forum a special topic to discuss about k770i modification.. i like to know what else we can do to k770i

can someone show all his modification on this hp please

can you suggest me what upgrade that can be use for my hp base on my logfile like main and fs. I having difficulty to choose the right upgrade for my hp .. scared i will screw up my hp with a wrong upgrade..

Yes. Just get the desired firmware version, R8BA024.

The steps are pretty much the same as long as the phone type is db2020 and the CID is CID52. If you want you can find a tutorial that you think matches that description and the files you think are correct and get back here for us to check if its right.
You learn more and faster this way.

Try looking if there's such a thing as

K770_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52

Else, that one should do fine.

This is for the Asia-Pacific region.

It contains English, Chinese (read-only), and Indonesian.

If that's good enough for you, then its good.

I'm not too sure whats inside that. Try looking for one that closely resembles your FS, like

HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_7_R8A_APAC
(I don't think that exact file with that filename exists, but it should be similar, with the part where it says 'APAC' same as that from your FS)

That one should contain English, but I am not 100% sure.

thanks for your information and guide.. i successful rebrand my phone to R8BA024 from R8BA18 and install flash menu, vkp patch.. i want to try installing elf pack if possible

You should use the search to seek what you're looking for.

Oh and that's known as debranding, NOT rebranding. They're the opposite of each other.

owh.. sorry for my mistake.. btw, i search about elf and follow guide to install.. but seems like i miss a step somewhere or maybe my phone cannot have elf.. still have to try again and again

it aint lock just branded companys cant lock there phones becouse it's aganst the law and thats good becouse i got my iphone there unlocked

i want to shift from R8BA to R8BC with Arabic support in my phone...!
