Hello all.

I've spent the majority of yesterday trying to educate myself on what to do in order to upgrade my firmware and debrand my Rogers K790a.

After numerous readings, I decided to give it a go and as you will see below, I've managed to do something wrong.

OK..... I'm stuck.
Basically I'm at the point where I'm trying to download the Flash Main Firmware & Flash File System files.
I've tried to grab these files off of www.topsony.com however, I'm unable to download anything since I've just signed up.

Hopefully one of you good people can direct me to where I can download these files from.
I'd also like to hear what firmware versions you suggest I update to.

It seems that I've managed to screw something up.
Upon exiting the XS++ utility, and after not having performed any sort of flashing (that I know of), I cannot get my phone to operate or even turn on.
When I try to power it up, I only get this screen which goes away after a few seconds.

Can anyone please help me figure out what I've done wrong, or how to undo it?

Thanks in advance.

Allright... so I got past the screen above.
I managed to perform two complete flashes, but now, I can't seem to find a network.
The rest of the phone seems to work fine, with no more Rogers stuff on it, I just can't seem to get a network.

Please guide me as I'm not sure what to do now.

Considering that I'm in Canada, should I be flashing with the American firmaware?
I'm also experiencing great difficulty trying to find the firmware files.
It seems all the sites that have them, want to charge you in one way or another.

If anyone can direct me to where I can obtain the appropriate firmware files from, it would be great.

So by now I've flashed this phone about 6 different times, but still can't get NETWORK COVERAGE.

I'm at a loss as to what I'm doing wrong.

Here's a screen shot of my lastest and current status.

Hope someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong

If anyone can give me some more input, it would be great.
I'm down to one day here before I return back to work, and it won't be good not having a phone while at work!

It appears that I have a SIMLOCK on the network.

Any suggestions as to how to unlock the network?

and are you flashing k790a FW into k790a? :-D

You did create a GDFS backup right first?

I think this happens when you try to flash k800 FW into k790.. but I'm not sure if it is your case..

I did create the backup first. Will restoring that GDFS and then flashing with K790a FW fix my issue?

At first, I did do the wrong flash.

Warning: IMEI name does not match GDFS name (IMEI:K790 GDFS:K800)

After that, I've flash multiple K790a FW and K790i FW into it. Everything works except the network thing.

Hmm then I'm lost :/

I restored the original GDFS and made sure to flash using K790 FW.
My phone is finally finding the networks and is back to operational status.
Thanks for all the help everyone!
