ok so heres the deal:

bought my gf a w580i for valentines day
debranded it successfully
she used it for a week or so and then it wouldnt turn on (red light flashes)

i buy her another w580i figuring i could fix the broken one and sell it so she wouldn't be without a phone

i cant get the phone to boot!

ive gotten rid of the flashing red lights, but all i get is a vibrate and thats it.
i know its not the battery, because I used the new w580i to charge it so its got a full charge


ive successfully reflashed over and over again with setool2lite and xs++ to no avail
ive tried to reflash the erom with an erom i found at my580i with no success
i tried using setool2lite's unlock/repair with holding C and 2+5 and still cant get it to boot up



is there something im missing?

p.s. out of stupidity i did not backup the gdfs originally

let me know if you need any logs or anything...

Its gonna be hard... I had the same with my W300i but luckily my brother had another battery cuz he had a w300i too...

nope the battery is fully charged i used another sony phone to charge it


i noticed that regardless of what i flash to it it still lists the same on the xs++ screen when it identifies the phone. do i need a service cable? or is there something im missing that im not doing right

It seems like you have broken EROM.. or something like this.. So you can't flash it?

thats what i have thought too...

i have tried everything... i have used setool2lite's unlock/repair, xs++ to flash the erom with ones i found on the myw580i website, kulankendi to repair erom, not to mention doing full flashes with all three of those programs with R8BA024, R6BC002, and R8BE001 over and over and over again. i have even tried with SEUS!

all i get is a little vibrate when i try and turn it on... nothing more

this is why i think i may need a service cable?

When you plug it up and you try to make a gdfs backup does it give any error?

nope i actually made one as soon as it stopped working

heres a time line of what happened:

1.got the phone
2. debranded
3. used it for a couple weeks
4. wouldnt turn on - flashing red led
5. got another w580i so my gf wouldnt be without a phone
6. used that w580 to fully charge both batteries
7. made backup of GDFS
8. tried erom repairs
9. tried full flashes
10. posted on se-nse

Ok well here's some of my suggestions.
I guess you could try writing your backed up gdfs if you haven't done so then try a full flash right after,ie,flash your main and fs.
Also if you used the same firmware to do all your flashes try obtaining another one and flash it after writing the gdfs back up you have,but I hope you didn't not backup the gdfs from the new w580 an tried to use it on the w580 thats down since this could mean trouble.

edit: just was able to sucessfully reflash main once again... im so lost!

I think you should give SEUS a try at fixing the phone,saw someone was having similar problems like you an they used seus an that helped them,but they had to try connecting to seus like 3 times then it finally worked,hopefully it may work for you,cross your fingers I guess. .By the way post a little more of the log.But I still think you should try finding some firmware from another source as well.

I guess it would depend on what your warranty agreement says,I know if it was in my country and you did something like that you would have probably made your warranty void,but thats just here.
