I have a w810i locked to T-mobile but I need it on vodafone.

I know the CID49 is important (not sure why)
Am looking at Simox' Autopatcher guide to flash to do it, am I on right path.

What I can't do yet is find a good resource for firmware, any help there?

However I do have 1 credit for TOTAL Multi Server but not sure that my cable is compatible.

Happy yo chat on MSN with anyone willing to help.

You could take a look at my guide if you need help smile.gif And the unlock patch will work as long as you have R4EA031 firmware on it (I have the patch in my patch folder somewhere). But if you use Simox, it can use any firmware.
goldstar0011
That guide is great my friend!!

I've actually managed to get the phone unlocked today so that fine but now I wasnt to debrand and customise.
I've got all you uploaded files but they all say r4ea031, so am guessing I need to flash phone to that firmware first as I have R4CE012?
Wally_Dog
Yes you will need R4EA031 MAIN, and R4ED001 FS. That should do it. Then you can use an unlock patch.
goldstar0011
Cheers!

Done that but now phones telling me there's a configuration error after.

So I can now start applying the patches for this firmware?
How's best to do a full phone backup in case I mess up again?
Corman
2 GDFS back-ups (via XS and SETool2Lite), My Phone Explorer to back-up sms's and contacts (although you can put them on memory card).
goldstar0011
Done! THanks again people!

Noob question, how do I upload appications?

I am looking and trying so either I'll figure it out or get the answer here
Corman
Upload them to the other directory on your phone memory, and install them from there in the phone itself.
Files are in .jar format.
Wally_Dog
Hehe me and -corman- should start a W810i specialty support service smile.gif Also, make sure not to get the two GDFS readouts confused... SETool and XS++ both give different working version of the GDFS. There is usually a 6KB difference between the two. Also, whenever you flash your phone with Firmware, I suggest using XS++ 3.1 instead of SETool... XS++ is a lot easier.
goldstar0011
Wally_Dog - agreed! Been organising all the files and programs today, anything backed up in selite has it's own folder and same for xs++

-corman- - works great thanks!

Am loving the help and friendlyness of this forum, will definately be re-sharing this knowledge down the line!
