I'm sure how but part of the w810's power button snapped off and now i can't turn my phone on at all and i haven't backed up my numbers or messages.

The messages aren't so important but my numbers are, so i was wondering is there anyway to turn the phone on?

Thanks Harvey

Which one? the plastic thing?

Just buy the parts from the store or the online.

i found that if i inserted the data cable into my old k750 at a certain angle (with the usb end connected to my computer), it turned on automatically (not into file transfer mode etc).

if that doesnt work, try taking the phone apart and putting a screwdriver or someting over the blobs of solder where the on/off switch was

No it's the actually button that the plastic part pushes down on to turn on.

I will try the usb cable but i shouldn't think that will work. And i have already tried taking it apart and i have no luck there, only finding out that it is f**ked.

i dont have a w810i, but i do have an old k700 (or 2 tongue.gif) with power buttons that have been ripped clean off the board.

just to give you an idea, this is what you should be looking for (i originally uploaded the picture on esato, hence the esato watermark)

the power button is on the screen side of the phone

Take the button out from the "QUICK PLAY" and replace the power button !! Thats what i did, didnt use the quick play button too much and its not as imp as the power button. Be carefull, and do it slowly and u can have a working switch for free !!

Hmmmm, that sounds a bit dodgy, now am i meant to just take the button off?

And i don't want to send it to a repair centre because i don't actually want the phone anymore, i just want the numbers.

on the k700s i have the switches are held on by solder, so it looks like you would have to desolder the play/pause button and resolder it to the power switch place thing

Exactly, and i don't have a soldering gun.
