I wanna upgrade the firmware it can anyone step me in the right direction?

You can upgrade via SEUS, but this only updates your firmware if were realesed some fixes for your firmware or you could upgrade via xs++ to newer version of firmware.

I do want to update via xs++ what firmware should i be lookin for to update with?

How do i go about and doing that and whats the advantages of updating to k818

Download K818 Firmware MAIN and FS
And flash with XS++

Follow the guide that I posted and connect to xs++ and copy your phones log here.

You need main file, filesystem and custom pack. You can all download here ( you must search ).

You should look that both files main and filesystem are the same firmware version ( you have now R1JC002 ) and that custom file is the same like filesystem ( America_2 in your case ).

So if i go on 4shared and i see K790_R6BC002_FS_AMERICA_2_RED52.rar would that work for me? would that be a upgrade of firmware

You need a MAIN and then you have a upgraded K790a
But you can to K818 and you have PhotoFix and TrackID

But if you upgrade your k790 to k818 you might not get any network.

this it needs to match the FS you downloaded (IE America 2)

why would you get no network?

why would you flash to 818? what improvements?

(I only see china FW and FS any way)

I was just curious if anyone had success flashing a K790a to a K818c. I know, I know... I am still using a old unmodified K790a! Been a while since I looked into modding it and I'm just hoping it can do some new tricks by now.
