The standard set of folders in the file manager on Sony Ericsson phone contains Camera Album, Music, Pictures, Videos, Themes, Web pages, Games, Applications & Other. But what if you want more folders in there - say for your documents, secret files or modifications. What can one really do?


Actually creating these folders is extremely easy! All you have to do is connect your phone to the PC or open an application on your phone with full access to the files on your memory card (i.e. MobyExplorer).

Next up, simply create a new folder on the root of your memory card and there you have it! Unfortunately it’ll be a standard folder icon, and these can’t be changed (yet - I’m still trying to find a solution - any of you guys know how?).


That’s it - hope you found it at good use! By the way this will work on just about all current Sony Ericsson phones with a memory card!


(and yes, I know some of you have already found out about this years ago, including myself, but some might find this at good use)

the phone changes the icon after the folder's name and path , for example , on my k510 with the full acces to the FS patch , navigating throught tpa/user/ the lighteffects forder and others have different icons

You'll just need an application that can add folders to the memory card

Mizzle you've ask how to change the icon right? Well thats simple use sysgfx patch.BUT we've still can't manage to patch db3115.

An idea of renaming certain folders on Phone Memory.
Like.. Web Pages would lovely fit Documents...

Yah seriously, who uses the Web Pages folder? No one? Also I'm pretty sure you could add folders to it without using any program... just drag & drop it from windows to the memory card.

Yes, put it in the Media files folder on W810. I believe it should work on an older phone like W810.

erm, What is stopping you from using XS++ to connect to the TPA\Users folder and making a new directory?

Is there anyway to make this folder protected?? I mean when u are in phone right and u trying to open that folder u need to input a password. Is there something like that??
