Hi, I'm looking to flash my K790a to Chinese HK firmware, but I can't seem to find all the files that have the same R1JC or R6xxx, I've read that it does not matter whether they are the same, but I'm wondering what each one of these does...

From my research, I found that FS is what determines the language, but I have also read somewhere else that Custpack determines the language....

So what do these 3 individual things do? FS, Main and Custpack, and what is it not important for them to all be for the same "Rxxx". What does the Rxxx mean anyways?

I usually use Wotan, but I always like to learn, and I'm hoping that once I get a better understanding of this stuff, I can change the cam/acoustic drivers, etc.... I think before XS did not allow anything >CID49 to be modded, but now it can.

Well, your Main is your phone's OS, the filesystem is where internal settings and files are saved, and a custom pack makes your phone work. You get it right when you say the FS and cust pack both stand in for language, though you still can add languages if you flashed a FS without your desired language in it. It's important to flash files with the same name (Rxxx), as then you'll be sure they're compatible. Especially for the FS-cust pack combination!

Thanks for the quick response, so how does the custom pack "make the phone work"? And how would I be able to add languages even if I flash my phone without the desired language? It seems that Generic North America is the most popular firmware out there, but I really want Chinese Traditional on my phone...

Also, if I get incompatible what will happen? Would I be able to just flash it again and fix it?

The custom pack adds certain files to make the phone go into phone mode, The main and FS dont have to match but its better if they do, Some mis-matches actually do work better together like the w810 best combination is R4EA031 main and R4ED001 FS, The FS and custom pack must match or the phone will display configuration error.

For HK custpacks, but none of the CID52 are R5A or R2A, is the custpack "CID free" so to say?

First of all, visit the website www.iprotebe.cz, it's packed with FW's, AND cust packs. Let us know if you've found anything there...

i've been wondering about the same things too. Its really easy to find GENERIC LA files for MAIN but near impossible to find some of the more specific MAIN files. does this mean that GENERIC will match with just any FS files?

i went to iprotebe.cz, and registered, ANd recieved a confirmation email in either Russian or some eastern european language.but whenever i try to sign in it'll go to a page in the same cryptic language in RED, and usually red means bad news...its just that i don't know or cant read what the bad news is

so....im stuck...i've been looking for w580i R6BC002 HONG KONG files for the longest time...

iprotebe.cz doesn't have any HK, I checked... I don't even mind paying on topsony for the FW, as long as I can use it

request the firmwares you want in the forum, and someone with topsony access may post it for you.....

I don't mind paying 2€ for access, but if someone could point me to the right combination of firmware/custpack for K790a HK, that'd be great
