I have a K800i which is cid 49. I want to debrand and unlock it.

I have downloaded some generic main and fs for the phone which are cid52.

I have read that when you connect the phone to XS++ it offers an option to upgrade the cid.

Should you backup the gdfs before or after upgrading to cid52 ?

I assume before but want to make sure.

After this I flash the main and fs, finalise the region etc. I should have a vanilla phone.

Next I use setool lite to apply a quick access patch (checking the bypass db2020 button). After this is done I just apply the unlock patch (this time with the quick access butotn checked).

yes back-up your gdfs before doing anything, also use seus to update to cid:52
