i just got a w880 and the people i call always complain about the volume , the microphone is set too soft.
is there any firmware setting or something like that which i could alter to increase the microphone volume?

same problem here seems to b a common fault

hm... the funny thing is, i bought this phone off a mate since he got an iphone, and then went to a shop to get it unlocked. then after a few days i asked my mate if he'd been having this problem, he said no, so i guess it's some firmware setting the shop guys changed(unwillingly) during the unlocking procedure. cant be a hardware defect then can it?

i dunno m8 ive got a w880 and my dad has and they both have the same problem with the mic mine was brand new and i neva got it unlocked so i doubt its the firmware
so its possible it could b a hardware defect

There isnt but if you try a few firmwares and see which is best ?

if i update the firmware, will the phone get relocked?

yep it will lock again the other way to test the mic is by goin in the service mode
