Reflash the Main smile.gif

I tried, but got an error
13:24:37|
13:24:37| Sending db2010_cid49red_flash_r2a003.bin...
13:24:38| Binary acknowledge failed with: 15

13:31:47| Error: Flashing failed

What MAIN and what FS should I use? smile.gif confused.gif
Snowiffic
Okay that's strange confused.gif
What fw are you trying to flash ?

Okay that's strange confused.gif

I'm gonna try with this now:

W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_4_RED49.fbn

and

W810_R4DB005_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_CID49.mbn

should work? or do they have to be the same?
Snowiffic
Hmm, Have you tried with R4EA031 MAIN ? smile.gif
THAT should work. smile.gif

hmm, R4EA031_MAIN_GENERIC_HN?
Snowiffic
Yes smile.gif
Vesper
QUOTE (Mr. Thunderbird @ 2007-12-02 13:47) *
Yes smile.gif

I will try that as soon as it's downloaded, but I just flashed it with this:

13:41:09| Flashing w810_r4db005_main_generic_hn_cid49.mbn
13:41:09| Header type: BABE
13:41:09| 343 flashblocks
13:44:07| Finishing flash
13:44:07| Done flashing
13:44:07| Now flashing filesystem...
13:44:07| Flashing w810_r4db005_fs_europe_4_red49.fbn

But it did not work! That should work, right? Same version. Do I have to select another CDA in the Customize File System prompt?

edit: Yeah baby, I just got the phone started, using swedish language and the newest firmware and for free. Thank you so much for your help samurai. I want to install patches now, do the patch have to be for DB005 or can I use a, lets say, R4EA031?
Snowiffic
No Problem, glad I could help smile.gif

You must use patches for your MAIN FIRMWARE version, smile.gif

R4EA031, is the best for patches smile.gif

What happens if I keep my FS but change the MAIN to R4EA031?
Snowiffic
Nothing. smile.gif

Nothing. smile.gif

So basically you can use whatever MAIN to a FS that works?
Snowiffic
Hmm, I'm not quite sure, I've heard about "bad combinations", but if you get one of these, you just need to reflash your phone fully smile.gif

But the EA one and the FS you used, should work without a problem smile.gif

Yup I just realised they are not the most up to date, so right now I'm flashing with MAIN R4EA031 GENERIC and FS R4ED001 Europe4. That way I can use all the EA031 patches, right?
Snowiffic
Yes, that's right, I have the same combination right now... EU4 R4ED001 and GENERIC R4EA031 Main smile.gif

I dont get how to upload vkp files? XS++ wont let me press the Execute patch button. Why is that? sad.gif
Snowiffic
The patch function in XS++ isn't done yet.

What command in setool lite should I use, then? Thank you smile.gif
Snowiffic
1. Open Setool2lite
2. Select phone model (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
3. put your ".vkp" file into "MISC" box.
4. press WRITE SCRIPT
5. follow the instructions
6. if it asks "VALUES DIFFERS" press YES smile.gif

It said to APPLY patch press No
And I pressed No, should I press Yes instead? :S

I tried to find that MOVE/COPY anywhere patch but couldn't find it. Not asking you to go looking it up for me, but if you already know where it is... smile.gif

Yeah that worked like a charm, thanks!

I'm not sure why, but I can't get any sound from the phone anymore. I will try to revert the Acoustic and camera to Other.vkp plus installing new acoustic driver.
