First off, sorry for making this a new thread, I know there are many active threads going right now on this subject, But I wanted to make sure everyone thats been trying to do this can see how I did it successfully!!!


So here goes!!!

Ive been messing with this for about 8 hours now, and I FINALLY got it to work... I downloaded a blue theme somewhere online and it did not have flash menus.. SO... I downloaded the PSP Blue .SWF file in the flash downloads of this site then did the following to get it to work:

I used the programs 7Zip and IZarc and XS++

just for ease of the example, Ill use the file names that I used on my theme.

My SWF menu file name is " PSPmenublue.swf " and the THM name is " BlueWalkman.thm "


First make a new folder and put your THM file and your SWF file in the same foler ( you dont have to but it just makes it easyer)

right click on your THM file and go to the 7zip tab and click Extract Files...

This will create a new folder will all of the THM files in it Find the THEME.XML file in that folder.

right click on the THEME.XML file and select "open with" and click Notepad

once notepad is open add the <Desktop_style Type="File" Source="PSPmenublue.swf" /> in the 4th line . Once thats there click SAVE then EXIT.

Now go back to the folder where all of your THM files are in and highlight ALL of the files, once highlighed right click on them and go to the IZarc tab and click on " Add to Archive File "

Now that IZarc is open click on the Archiving type tab and select the TAR option, Where is says Action make sure it says ADD

Now at the top where is lists the file directory ( it will look like this : C:\My Documents\DEBRAND\themes\BlueWalkman\BlueWalkman.tar ) for example and click ADD

Once thats done it will create a .TAR file containing all the files ( BlueWalkman.tar ) all you need to do here is right click "rename" and change it to (BlueWalkman.thm) Windows will prompt warning you not to change the file extension name, but click OK anyways.

Now take your new THM file and cut and paste it back in to the folder we started with, containing the SWF file.. once you paste it, it will ask you if you want to overwrite, just click yes!

were almost done.

Now open up your XS++ and click FSX option... go to "tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash" and put your .SWF file in the this directory. Shutdown and disconnect...

Now put your memory card back in, plug your phone back in to the computer and select "File trasfer" When it pops up in windows cick open folder to view files and go to your themes folder. then paste your new THM file here. Disconnect, wait for your phone to return to normal, and go to your File Manager, and select Themes and If you did this correct it Will be there!!!!!!! If, when you try to set the theme and it says file corrupt and doesnt set it, it means you did something wrong. Re - read this and try again! It took me several trys to get it to work, but using this meathod and these programs, it worked like a charm!!!!!!

And I wouldnt have been able to do this at all if it wernt for mirko750, And several others on the board! So im just here to share the knowledge!!

Right when i got to this part i kind of got stuck. I followed everystep and when i pressed ADD its suppose to create a Bluewalkman.tar file, but instead mines creates another Bluewalkman TAR ZIP file. What going on? i dont really understand this part ><

in the drop down menu under "Archive Type" did you select .TAR ?? it should not create a .zip Thats the only thing I can think of that it might be!!!

yes i checked it and it says .tar. I followed every step but it still creates a zip file. got anymore ideas? i've been trying to get a few flash themes to work for a while but no luck at all.

Humm... Your using 7Zip and IZarc? I honesty dont know why its doing that!? I didnt do that to me! Your using the same programs I did, and windows XP ?? Mabe once Mirko750 sees this, mabye he will have some suggestions? I know hes pretty good at this! Sorry I cant help, im still a Noob at this too, and the steps I listed are how I got it to work, But mabye im leaving something out!

Now Ive got it all debranded, Flash menus, Walkman skins, a bunch of music, What else can i do to this thing!?? Any suggestions?

well you can mess with other things like acoustics and the camera. Not a expert at it or anything but those are suggestions ^^ so far i've got 2.0 walkman skins and some flash menus to work because they alrdy had thm files in them.

You found the solution to my problem... I was trying to add a Ilumination to a .thm file with a flash desktop... But now I can do it the other way around...
