++UPDATED++ 27-02-08]

Many people asks about how to upload stuff to their phone, so here is the answer!

It's called: 'XS++'!

Please check if you have the newest version of XS++.
Current Version: v3.1 DARWIN

Discussion - Questions, Answers -> Here

DBs and CIDs supported by XS++'s FSX function; - Yes your phone MUST be on the list wink.gif

DB
;DB2000
;DB2010
;DB2020

CID
;CID36
;CID49
;CID50
;CID51
;CID52

NOTES:
A: You cannot 'download' files from your phone.
B: Smartphones are not supported by the FSX function.
C: You cannot mark multiple files.
D: You cannot delete folders.

E: I've included a list of most used files in the end of this tutorial.
F: Files are overwritten if you upload a file with the same name..
(You don't have to delete all the acoustic file before uploading new ones wink.gif )

Let's begin!

0. If you don't have 'USB Flash Drivers' installed, please visit my guide HERE.

1. Start up XS++.

2. Press 'Connect' and follow these steps;
  1. Turn OFF your phone.
  2. Take the battery out.
  3. Wait 10 seconds.
  4. Put the battery back in.
  5. Press and HOLD 'C' on your phone, and plug in your USB Cable!

Your phone should now be connected with XS++, and you should see some info about your phone in the right panel.
Remember to check up with the list above, to see if your phone is supported or not.

3. Select 'FSX' in the 'Configuration' menu.

4. Press 'Start FSX'.
Now, XS++ will load all the files and paths at once. Please have patience, this WILL take some time...

5. Navigate in the FS using the FSX, once you have found a file you want to delete, mark it, and press 'DELETE'.

6.The file was deleted without problems, sweet!

7.
Playing around in the FS and deleting stupid stuff we/I don't need tongue.gif .

8.
Remember to have a backup of your important files! In my case, I DID have a backup of my menu file smile.gif
So there is two ways of uploading it back;

8a. The Drag-And-Drop method,
Navigate and select the folder you want to upload the file(s) to, mark all the files, and move them over to "Enumerated Files"

8b. Press 'UPLOAD', navigate to the file(s) you want to upload, mark them, and press 'OPEN'.

9. Remember, after doing stuff using FSX, press SHUTDOWN!
Press 'YES' on the box that appears.

when is the final version be release?

thanks a lot for this
Snowiffic
I don't know about when the final will be released. smile.gif
But, It's pretty stable smile.gif
And I think that in the next final version. There will be huge updates wink.gif
Ciggy
i think i'll give this a try. i've downloaded it already but haven't tried it.

Does v3 need to flash the real main firmware??????????

If by that you mean does V3's FSX flash a fake main, do its stuff, and flash a rest file? No it doesn't. It doesn't need to as we have unlocked loaders smile.gif
chris_b0ss
gr8 tuturorial mr. thunderbird!!!! gr8 work xs++ crew!!!
Filiph
YAY I HAVE BEEN WAITING IMPATIANTLY FOR THIS AND I HAVE BEEN BUGGING fredrik and asked for the release date, and now its here !!!! OMFG!!!!!!!!!
sage99c
wow!!very nice...sayin goodbye now to far manager(i hardly understand it) lol.gif
chris_b0ss
aa....i have a little problem.....i entered in fsx and then shutdowned fs services but my phone is not starting.....i had to use farmanager to make my phone work...xs didn't flashed the rest file..
Snowiffic
Yeah, And without flashing RESTs and FAKEs, stuff has gotten 10+ times faster ! cool.gif
chris_b0ss
but why xs didn't restored the main?
Snowiffic
What do you mean by RESTORE?
I don't have to restore...

I've deleted files by just plugging into XS++ and pressed FSX, no flash or something cool.gif
chris_b0ss
okay,i will explain...i started xs,pressed connect and ......i pressed start fsx,i waited until xs readed all the file and i explored the folder a little bit...after that i pressed shutdown then yes...i took the battery 5 times and my phone didn't turned down..so i used farmanager to enter in flash to flash the rest file.
Snowiffic
Hmm, that might be a bug ?

Post in the XS++ Discussion thread. smile.gif
dubhagat
will it work for w810 cid 50 to browse/upload/delete files
Snowiffic
I don't know, you could try. smile.gif
Ciggy
i tried the FSX function. 1 one word...amazing. perfect substitute for far manager. now i never have to flash a fake main to enter my fs again. lol.gif
shivasparksuoff
but still we k750 users got to go the long reflahing-main way.....hope the genius xs++ team can do with the loaders and simplify things for us..........but even then, congratulations to the xs++ team for the not-less-than-a Miracle!
shivasparksuoff
by the way.....will the k750/w800 users see the same simplified FSX operations in the final release???
Ciggy
i guess. remember the final version will be more updated than the beta version
Snowiffic
Updated 1st post.
Ciggy
my post above was wrong... gbrooks3 said that you ALWAYS have to re-flash main of k750/w800/d750 if you use any operation that involves cs loaders in XS++
Ciggy
EDIT: double post sorry. browser is giving some problems
Snowiffic
Haha!
I guess the tables are turned! lol.gif

Before, NON-SIBLEY based phones could do a lot that SIBLEY-BASED phones couldn't, now, SIBLEY-BASED phones has the lead cool.gif
petera
Works great on W880 (DB2020 CID52) thanks a lot!

One question: Does any one know how long we have to wait until phones like mine will be able to download files from our phone without resorting to using tools like XML Source Generator?

Hmm, that depends if the loader will be "leaked" wink.gif

People, please post your phones, after testing this, like petera here has done. So no body will ask "DOES THIS WORK WITH MINE"?

Thanks in advance. smile.gif
Ciggy
SE W810i......works great!!! no problems at all
Snowiffic
I own a w810i aswell wink.gif

Rememer DB and CID wink.gif
Ciggy
or, sorry. in that case, XS++ v3 works great with SE W810i DB2010 CID49 (well i own a cid49 w810i so i can't write cid50 as well). no problems at all unless you make mistakes, which i can't determine what will happen to your phone.
Ciggy
sorry, my browser keeps double posting.
stevii
Working amazing on my CID 52 w580i!!

Good Work!
Snowiffic
Keep em coming ! wink.gif

Please remember your DB too, I can't remember all phones wink.gif

But I guess that w580 is 2020 smile.gif
stevii
Yes sorry its DB2020
Ciggy
mr. thunderbird...do you know where i can get the full structure of the w810i's fs? like the roots and all the directories? example: /ifs/settings/acoustics, /ifs/settings/camera/ like that. i want to try your tutorial to get more space on my w810i but i don't want to make the directories while using FSX in XS++ because i'm afraid the electricity cuts off, the USB cord gets knocked out (although it never happened before), the phone gets disconnected. you never know what might happen and as the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. i don't have a service cable so if my phone spoils, i'm screwed. before deleting all the things you said i should delete, i want to back them up in case i want to restore them for some reason. i'll use XS++ to do want you suggested because i don't want to have to apply over 60-70 patches if i use FAR.
Snowiffic
A full FS reflash would do the trick wink.gif

But you should use MAIN2RAW and afterwards some other tool, (I cant remember) to extract the FS ... smile.gif
Ciggy
no i just want the directories. i don't really want to flash my FS because i'll end back up in step 1 in modding my phone. and i don't have that time right now. plus i have too many things i need to backup before flashing fs. remember how you gave instructions to delete which folders in ifs, tpa, usb, etc. i want the name of the folders and the patch taken to reach those folders. that's all so i can make the directories on my pc and place the files i deleted from my fs in there
Snowiffic
Ohhh now I understand...
Hmm, but 1st, please post it in my SLIMMING down topic....

I hope I understood you correct.

Yes, this contains some files, just delete them and keep the folders.

EDIT:
Removed Attachment
Ciggy
thanks a lot mr. thunderbird. you understood me well, this is what i wanted. in your tutorial, i can use XS++, right? do i have to delete the folders or can i just delete the files and leave the folders (since XS++ can't delete folders yet)?
Snowiffic
Well, as far as I know, then folders is just 0 byte stuff.... but well you can use XS++ if you want smile.gif
Ciggy
yup...i'll use XS++ because i don't want to lose patches. question: if i'm in my fs and i suddenly get cut off (power goes, usb cable gets knocked out) what will happen to my phone?
Rolii-16
i like XS++ because its all in one. It will be nice in a newer version to install vkp patches with XS++.
93bh
Can I copy the files from my phone to my computer? Is that possible? smile.gif
Snowiffic
As far as I know..
- No...

This is a BETA version, as what I know, then you can do that in the final release ! smile.gif
erenator

use R4EA031 Main Generic and R4ED001 FS (not sure which FS because i use R4EA031 FS Europe 2) and whichever FS you use get a Custpack to match that FS
