Can some files, like an improved camera driver or audio drivers for a 750 or 810 be used safely in a W300i?

Also, how can new games (I just have the JAR files) be made to work in the w300i? The game folder in the
phone shows a JAR file plus several associated files; a JAD file and two small PNG files. Uploading the JAR by itself didn't work. No damage, just doesn't even show on the game menu.

Where is the GIF animation which plays when you shut off the phone? Redoing the STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC.gif didn't do the trick. That is the animation that shown at the close. I didn't see a CLOSE_IMAGE or similar file.

There is an annoying and useless "Music DJ" program in the Entertainment section I'd like to remove.
Any idea how to do this?

And finally, how can I program the screen on the phone to stay on longer? It blinks off much too quickly.

Thanks all.
Steve

No way for camera drivers, since they have different hardware. Audio drivers yes.

JAR files by self can be installed, there's no need of JAD files, seems you did downloaded them bad, as ZIP or RAR (internet explorer it's a crap man). Also there's a program called JADGEN useful to make JAD files.

Question about shutdown image, that image is located on tpa/preset/system/settings and its called SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC, PLEASE NOTE without any extension.

Thanks, stuCK -

Found that menu.ml file, deleted the midi recorder element id section as well as the Demo tour -
working nicely.

I made a short animated GIF for the SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC - works but is on an endless loop - I have to hit the enter button to make it stop - same with the STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC file. All at correct size but, unlike the original default files that play once, these loop until stopped.

Lastly, Having the JAR files, what is the procedure to upload them. Dropping them in the game folder does not work.

Thanks again,
Steeve

You're welcome.
About animated GIF, edit it with a GIF editor like Adobe ImageReady to remove loop, otherwise you'll have to hit enter every time to stop.

For JAR Files, just drop them on Others Folder, and open that folder, and click on Install on every game you'd like to install. If that doesn't works, check if wherever you downloaded the JAR files, if they downloaded directly or compressed in a ZIP, sometimes webservers consider them as ZIP files, and changes their extension.

cheers,
stuCk.

Score another one for stuCK!

I forgot I even had Adobe Image Ready or that it handled GIF animations. I never use it, just Photoshop.
I reset the GIFS to not loop, now they're working perfectly. (Why they defaulted to loop mode in the first place, I don't know).

Without even having to to go to FAR, just using Directory Opus (a huge improvement over Windows Explorer), I transfered JAR game files to the phone's "other" directory via USB, then went to the phone's file manager utility to install them. Install asks you whether to make it a game or app - which leads me to another annoying question...

There is supposedly a much improved media manager for the W300i: KD_Player_128x160.jar. If I transfer this JAR file to the "other" folder, then install it as an app, will it overwrite my existing media manager/mp3 player, or will it install as an additional program and cause problems? I've got about 200 mp3's on my 1 GB card. I only want one good media handler. How would you do it?

Lastly, is there any way you know of to make all those hidden menus viewable in a Windows file manger like
Dir Opus or Windows Explorer - like removing their system or hidden attributes somehow?

You rally know your stuff, stuCK.
Thanks for your help.

Best,
Steve

Hi.

If you install KDplayer, it won't replace Walkman. It will be installed as another Java app or game.

What Hidden menus are you talking about? Do you mean File System of the phone? IF yes, there's no way yet, since its needed a third-party app for breaking into FS.

cheers,
stuCK

i attached the newest camdriver 4 u, also the graphics on the w300i can be changed with a graphics patch i use a walkman 3 skin on the media player.
