Firmwares
download w580 Main and FS and CDA (custpack or customization pack) from esnips mirko folders.

download FS from mirko enisps which has your language files. find which fs has what langauge from here

download generic main.. main is same for all regions.. but different FS for different langauges .. and by default all FS have English language.

Then use XS++ to flash w580 main and fs and cda into your S500 !

yes but u will lose fitness app, walkman 2.0 y wud u wanna do that?

Actually yes. I have an ipod, plus the walkman kills the battery. And I don't really need the fitness app, as it's only geared towards running and I'm a swimmer.

So is it as simple as flashing the s500i main files?

I've heard about the one phone that got messed up after about 10 days, I didn't know it was caused by using a different FS.

I flashed it with
W580_R6BC002_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52
W580_R6BC002_FS_AMERICA_1_RED52

Hmmm, think I should be worried?
It's been about a week now.

Btw, is there a guide on how to repair the EROM if I hit that scenario.

Your tut is good, wish I had it a week ago when I was trying to do this, it's really hard finding the info on what to do for all of this.

Hopefully my EROM will survive and the death of the other s500 is a one time thing.

yeah don't worry.. i think it was a problem with that phone only
why i put that is .. this nitroblu had EROM problems too with his w580 after flashing it with new w580 main and w580 fs.. twice infact

first erom goes dead
he gets replacement for his phone
again flashes.. again erom dies..!
now i don't know what he is doing.. have to find his thread and read it now..
on it now...searching for him now...

Hey nice tutorial askhay... just one suggestion: make your tutorial more clear (wording) right now it just seems a bit confusing (the sentences are fragmented). Would you mind if I copied it, made things more clear, then sent it to you over PM and if you liked it repost it?

Actually, to get the everchanging and night and day theme working properly theres a little more to it than copying the .swf and .thm.

DayandNight theme:

Theme filename is "Day and night.thm". This is the file that goes into the "Themes" folder on your phone.

There are 5 files total that make up this theme. Here are their file names and where they need to go on your phone:

All of the files are in the rar file. As long as you get those files to the right location, you then put the main theme file in the theme fold you normally put it, eveything will look identical to the S500 (except for the walkman icon, its still the music icon and it doesn't say walkman on the top, it just blank but it works) Otherwise the menu wouldn't work properly. And the everchaning theme still changes automatically.

well im using it and i cant see any problems yet, so i guess everything is ok. Walkman works well, and everything else is in working order. Thanks again =0]

Only thing i've noticed so far is the "music player" icon in the menu that is now the walkman player doesnt say walkman or music player on top of it. its just a blank name.

Like I said in my previous post, that skin wasn't designed to have the walkman software to be there. The big thing now is our internet button is now the walkman button

Oh yeah if you want to remove the 0 step counter, its in the fitness software somewhere, just load a w580 skin and go into the fitness software settings and get rid of it so you don't have a stupid counter that doesn't work

Also i dont know what you mean by the internet button is now the walkman button, my internet button is still internet lol. the walkman button is the music player button, just with no text. Unless I'm misunderstanding your post?

Oh I mean the physical button on the phone. The bottom most left button beside the speaker that looks like a globe, if you push that now, it loads the walkman player not the web browser. So now its much easier to access the music.

As for the skin... uh someone else help me with that, I do not have the w580 skins on me since I did flash the FS, it came with the w580 skins

Which fs did you flash? I want to try flashing the FS aswell, but I need W580_R6BC002_FS_AMERICA_1_RED52 and i cant find it anywhere =0/. Also do you lose your contacts stored on the phone if you flash the FS?

^^^ yes you will loose all contacts if you flash FS

but just download MyPhoneExplorer and back up .. later u can restore them back to phone..
even sms u can restore to phone.. also archive them on computer

hey u can upload menu.ml and layout.xml of w580i to get that settings..

u can get the FS from mirko750 !

i found the FS on 4shared =0], so im gonna reflash the main and fs and see how it foes and ill download myphoneexplorer to backup the contacts.

^^ no don't reflash Main again.. it does not make any difference at all !!

and yes don't forget to customize your phone after flashing FS...

u got FS right ?? now just download America 1 FS from Topsony or some where on the internet...
and then in XS++ select own_custpack

and u must put custpack files in that own_custpack folder in XS++...

im confused i have the america 1 FS its called, W580_R6BC002_FS_AMERICA_1_RED52. So after i flash the FS, i select own custom pack, but what files do i put in the own_custpack folder im confused. sorry for being noob about this.

^^ u must put customize.xml files in own_custpack folder in XS++ floder..
those files you will get it in a Custom pack..
which can be downloaded from topsony or other place on internet...
just ask mirko750 he can get you a cust pack..

alright ill ask him.

download a cust pack

connect phone ( usual process )
unzip the customization pack
you will find a folder named "tpa" in it

now in xs++ directory on PC, in the directory where u have xs++.exe create a new folder named "own_custpack"

copy the "tpa" folder into this "own_custpack" folder the path of custom files should be like own_custpack/tpa/preset/custom...

open xs++ and connect fone check only customize file system

now under phone model select 'Own Custpack'
under CDA and Region, select '/own_custpack'

now hit flash...
now in few seconds custom files will be added to your phone and done
Start your phone !! Wait for some time !!

Nvm, i think i found the file i need,
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_15_R8A_GENERIC_AMERICA_1.zip.

is this the correct cuspack i need for the FS W580_R6BC002_FS_AMERICA_1_RED52?

i´m just curious about one thing (i´m a totaly noob on mobile + my english isn´t on the best side) is it possible to transfer the walkman player to s500 didn´t really gett what u said in the begining

nope, its built into the firmware, I don't think anyone really knows how to modify the firmware that way

besides by flashing the w580 firmware, you don't lose anything from the firmware change, its all gain. Only thing you would lose is the s500 themes but you just upload those back into the phone (check previous post)

okej thats make sence thx but i don´t get one thing felling really dumb her when u flash w580 firmware what funktions will work on my s500 then?

Everything the s500 already has still works. Music player gets turned into walkman and the internet button under the back button on the front of the phone is now the walkman button. Thats about it really that I can think of. If you plan to use your phone as a mp3 player a lot, makes a big difference. With the walkman player you now get the shuffle function, sort by album, walkman skins, album art, visualization, mega base equalizer.

Radio does not work and shake/motion sensor does not work because we do not have the hardware built into our phone.

and you can return your phone back..just flash the right firmware
