Hello.I searched in this forum and i saw that there is no tuturorial for how to work with FarManager with a cid49 phone and i decided to create one.

Final version.

Note:By doing this you understood that you can brick your phone if you do something wrong.I am NOT responsable to your actions,i am NOT respondable if you will brick your phone.I had done this with a k750i@w800i r1bc002 cid49 and i had no problems.

But if you have cid36 you don't have to flash the fake main and the restore file!

for k310i:you must flash the fake main k310_p3k_dcu.49R.ssw and in farmanager you must select w300_w810_z550_CID49 (tested on esato)
for k750i:you must flash the fake main k750w800_r2e_dcu.49r.ssw and in farmanager you must select k750_w800_CID49
for w800i:you must flash the fake main k750w800_r2e_dcu.49r.ssw and in farmanager you must select k750_w800_CID49(tested by me)
for w810i:you must flash the fake main w810_p3k_dcu.49R.ssw and in farmanager you must select w300_w810_z550_cid49
for w300i:you must flash the fake main w300_p3k_dcu.49R.ssw and in farmanager you must select w300_w810_z550_CID49

Here are the steps.Before do something read this carefully and be sure you understood!

1.go to Xs++ folder(where you extracted it)


2.start XS++


3.Click start and connect the DCU-60 cable while pressing the c button


4.check to flash MAIN. Click ‘…’ and go to How to customize cid49 part2/ssw. Select the file according to your phone model, in my case, ‘k750w800_r2e_dcu.49r.ssw’ (for K750/W800/W700 CID49) . Now hit flash . 5 flashblocks will be loaded in 5 seconds!!!). Now our MAIN is patched.Close XS++, Unplug fone and re-insert battery to refresh


5.Now go to How to customize cid49/Far/


6.Start FarManager



7.Press F11 and select SEFP 0.10.0.51


8.In the following screen select… DeviceCU60, Speed: 921600 Boot Script: According to fone model (k750_w800_CID49 in my case).Now Enter The MATRIX!!!Your fone should get detected. after a few seconds, a screen will show you two folders, FLASH and FS.


9.Double click on FS


10.Do the job you wanted.Click here for see what you can do with FarManager.

11.Now, that we are finished with our operations, we need to shutdown the loader. For this keep on clicking ‘..’ (root of folder) until it asks you to shutdown CSFS loader. Click yes and close FAR manager, and unplug fone. Reinsert battery to refresh.IT IS NECESERLY TO CLOSE FARMANAGER AND REINSERT THE BATTERY.IF YOU DON'T DO THIS FARMANAGER WILL GIVE ERRORS!


NOW IT'S TIME TO RESTORE THE REAL FIRMWARE.THIS CAN BE DONE WITH 2 METHODS.
I.Using Farmanager(this works for phones that Farmanager can enter in flash),for example w800i.

12.The final step is to un-patch the MAIN firmware. Again, open FAR manager program, and connect fone, the same way as before. This time goto FLASH instead of FS


13.Now your inside FLASH. On the left side, you are in FAR manager folder. go to How to customize cid49 part2 folder and then to REST. You see a number of files… with prefix ‘REST_’ followed by your fone’s firmware version.


14.Select the appropriate file of your MAIN firmware (I have a k750 flashed to w800 r1bc002 main so REST_W800_R1BC002 in my case but if you have other phone select the phone with your firmware ) and drag it to anywhere on the left side.Hit copy


15.Then hit flash.After the report come close FAR manager and unplug your fone. The job is done!!!


II.The second method is working for phones that are not supported by Far or for the phone that Farmanager cannot enter in flash..for example w810i
Here are the steps.
1.go to the folder you extracted setool 2 lite and start setool 2 lite..
2.select your phone type
3.Press identify
4.Where it's written RESTORE FIRMWARE you must browse for the restore file for your phone model and firmware
5.Now press Flash
6.After the flashing is complete your firmware was succesfuly restored..

What can you do with FarManager:
a)change your mediaplayer: *note: this sometimes causes errors like disabled flash menus/thumbnails etc *
/tpa/system/multimedia/mp
Put certain gif images in this folder

b)You can expand your SMS Memory:
1. Browse to the folder /ifs/settings/messaging/ with FAR Manager
2. select pref_store.txt and copy it to your pc
3. Open pref_store.txt and change "/smsdata" in "/tpa"
4. Save the changes and upload the new file
5. go back to "root" shutdown the loader

c)killing camera sound
1.go to FS/tpa/preset/system/sound
2.delete files camerashutter.3gp,cameraburst.3gp,cameraburst.mid and cameratimer.mid (now your camera in silenced)
3.go back to "root" and shutdown the loader

d)update your acoustic driver
1.go to ifs/settings/acoustic and replace your original acoustic with the one you like
2.go back to "root" and shutdown the loader

e)update your camera driver
1.go to ifs/settings/camera and replace your original driver with the one that you like
2.go back to "root" and shutdown the loader

f)update your display driver
1.go to ifs/settings/display
2.go back to "root" and shutdown the loader

g) get rid of discharge battery sound and of other system sounds
The various system sounds are stored at /tpa/preset/system/sound. If you replace them with your own versions you can change the sound the phone makes for a given system sound. For example you can replace the noisy lowbattery.mid with something more subtle.
Replacement sounds should have the same name and audio format (mid, mp3, amr) as the original, and be about the same length.
To replace a system sound, delete the existing sound from /tpa/preset/system/sound and copy in your own version.

h) Shutdown Sound
1.go to /tpa/preset/system/settings and place place any mp3 in there and rename to SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 and it will play it when you shut down the phone.
2.go back to "root" and shutdown the loader

i)Edit your menu
1.go to tpa\preset\system\menu and replace it with a new menu
2.go back to "root" and shutdown the loader

j) Backup your jar files
1.Go to tpa/perset/system/ams/ and copy the files in there to your computer.
2.go back to "root" and shutdown the loader

k) You cannot delete the pre-installed content from the handset itself, but with access to the internal file system you can delete ANY pre-installed content you want. Simply browse to the folder where the preset content is stored and delete it.

Here are the folder locations for the various pre-installed content:

Games: /tpa/preset/system/ams.
Games: /tpa/preset/default/java
Sounds: /tpa/user/audio
Sounds: /tpa/preset/default/audio
Images: /tpa/user/image
Images: /tpa/preset/default/image

m)add frames,funlayers and cliparts
copy in there folders the frames,funlayers and cliparts
Frames: /tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/frames

n)Delete SE Web links in user folders
delete all the files /tpa/preset/system/custmenu except cust_menu_data.dat and cust_menu_done_unpacking.dat

o)Change Startup and Shutdown sounds and Images

Startup and shutdown images and sounds are located in various locations. To change, simple delete the existing file, and copy in your file with the same name. Here are the various names, file sizes, formats and locations:

Boot image: SPLASH in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image displayed at boot up, called the Splash Screen. Can be in gif, bmp or png format. Animation not supported.

Startup Image: STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image shown after the Splash screen. This image can be chosen by the user in settings/display/start-up screen so you don't need internal file system access to change this image.

Shutdown Image: SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the 176x220 pixel image that is shown when the phone is shutting down. Can be in gif, bmp or png format. Animation is supported, but total number of frames should be kept low, and gif should not be set to repeat animation, as this will slow down the shutdown.

Startup Sound: STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mid or STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the sound that plays when the phone starts up.

Shutdown Sound: SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mid or SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mp3 in /tpa/preset/system/settings/
This is the sound that plays when the phone is shutting down.

p)installing a custompack:* Do THIS when you get the configuration error!*
/tpa/preset/custom

q)patch your phone
go to flash,drag the patch you want to install,press copy and then flash

r)Edit the Sony Ericsson website at internet services
1.go to tpa\preset\system\wap\opmenu\default
2.copy the files in that folder into your pc
3.edit the websites with an webeditor
4.save the new files
5.copy the new files into your phone
6.go back to "root" shutdown the loader

Thanks for the clear tutorial. Up till now I've been re-flashing patched MAIN firmwares to change various things on my phone. As I understand it, .vkp patches can be applied to the MAIN firmware currently on your phone by using the breakloader firmware with FAR/SEFP (drag'n'drop .vkp's to FLASH folder), and when done, finish the job with a REST file so you can use your phone.

Well, my question: is my above understanding correct? If so I'd be in joy cause constantly flashing freshly patched MAIN firmwares is getting tiresome.

-=This is such a great guide, and thanx for the softwares and your time!! Ive tried thousands of progs and plugins to enter FS on my modded k750 (to w800) with FAR (and always kept stucking on "1 of 1 bytes" screen) and could never ever managed to get in the "matrix" till now!!

-=And the REST files ,oh yeah! they are saving so much time!!flashing the MAIN again and again is just a pain in the butt...

i used gslide to get the code into the MAIN,but in the proccess i got the following message:

yes,i suggest to patch using farmanager because if you use gslide if you will want to patch another one you must do another main and so on..BUT DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR GDFS IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE THIS!

Of course i prefer the "Far manager" by far, i was just wondering if there was a possibillity of any kind of malfunction using far instead of gslide
(if i hadnt bucked up my GDFS i would have been burnt in hell, haha)

This drive goes on "ifs/settings/display"?
Now a newbie question. First I put the fake firmware to use far manager. After this I copy my personal drivers to "ifs\settings" and flash the phone with the REST* firmware. Will I lose my changes when flash the phone? Is it the process correct?

If i just want to delete/remove some flash menu (.swf) that i already had flashed into my phone , should i start from step 1 (go to How to customize cid49 part2/Xs++) or i can just straight away start from step 6 ( start with FAR) ?

Should i go on with steps 12 if my intention jst want to delete/remove the flash menu that i flashed into my phone or I should start from the beginning of the steps till the end ?

@jason_killer:you must do all the steps in the tuturorial....any time you want to use farmanager with a cid49 you MUST FLASH THE FAKE MAIN and after you done what you wanted with far YOU MUST FLASH THE REST FILE..

W810i is DB201x / CiD49 / 50...
You cannot access FLASH through FAR manager, because it is a Sibley-based phone.

and mr. t why was made the rest file for w810i??with what you can flash restore file??

You can access FS with FAR, w810i.

But don't flash, I saw some posts before in this thread... That someone said that db2010 cannot access FLASH...

can you try ??or already did?

I tried lots of time ago, but I was just sayin' that you CANNOT ACCESS "FLASH" Through FAR MANAGER on a w810i.

haih~~ i got to do so many things jst to remove/delete the flash menu.. Sad things is tat by using setool2 can't do the delete/remove stuff..
By the way , do i need to go back to "root" and shutdown the loader everytime i delete 1 item(for the flash menu) / do all the "jobs"( delete/remove those flash menu i don want + expand your SMS Memory + killing camera sound... etc ) then only quit the program ..
I heard that Far only can do 1 thing at 1 time .. Is it ?

oo but if you remove the sms limit you will loose the sms!

So everything is done by switching off out phone .. Need to take out the sim card or memory card ?
