that might be your problem right there, you didn't debrand. i'm not 100% sure on this, but i don't think the suppress camera sound will work on a phone that hasn't been debranded (and i'm pretty sure you can't just flash the FS by itself IF you have not flashed your phone with a generic MAIN).

and i think i read it somewhere on the forum, either debranding does void warrenty, or it doesn't and rogers just greatly frowns on it, but i'm not planning on dropping/washing my phone any time soon if you don't feel comfortable with debranding, then best thing is not to do it

actually, i was the one who experienced the WSOD on this thread , but it was only a problem between mediafire.com and my laptop (the FS file didnt' download right for whatever reason). but after I got my friend to download it for me (which worked fine on his laptop), and following the directions provided by stuckfugu, the debranding process fully worked.

for some reason, i was not able to delete the protected files after flashing even thoguh we should be able to, maybe some secuirty feature in the new CID50 doesn't allow it (or it hasn't be hacked through by coders yet). after debranding, the soft key shortcuts will become "Calls" and "Menu", everything Rogers is removed (like that stupid Rogers Music Store).

man =( i think i jacked up my phone.

i followed all the instructions.. everything seemed to work just fine.. until i turned it on..
it seemed to act slowly, then when i could finally type in the pin code for the sim card, after typing it in, it went straight to a message that something was wrong with the configuration and that i should contact a service center.

ive got a w810i cid50 from germany (o2) .. i got the corresponding fs and main from the iprobtebe.cz and did everything as explained in with the tpa

UPDATE: after praying and checking everything a couple more times - i figured out i had made a tpa/preset/custom directory.. and put the tpa/preset/custom i downloaded in there (too many folders) .. i just cleared that up.. flashed er again.. and im UNLOCKED, thanks so much man, u have no idea how long ive been waiting to do this with my cid50

nope, the problem is either with your java version, or the programs u r trying to run (you're probably installing unsigned java programs, meaning u won't have many options in permissions)

With regards to XS++, you can use the v3.1 (Darwin) to customize camera/acoutics/flash menus/startup & shutdown screens. For Flashing/Debraning you phone using XS++ v3.1, I'm not that sure I'll make further reading on this.

there's no difference between the two. none of the drivers were changed between the 2 versions....just the security locks.....that's why camera drivers for w810i phones, like sarmad 6.0, works on both cid49 and cid50 versions without any difference......

so basically, ur wasting your time. if you want a better camera driver, i suggest you search the forums for camera drivers for w810i

I used XS++ to customize after flashing the main and fs using SE Tool Lite.

Type in w810 in the search box and you will get about 5 pages. There are several CID50 Firmware versions you can d/l to use.

it says at the top of the first post in BOLD that u can customize your phone without debranding,...you didn't even have to scroll down the first page to see it!!!!! DON'T ASK USELESS QUESTIONS ....and i don't know what flash wallpapers have to do with patching, please don't post things that can be found on the first post

you edit your layout.xml file for no op. logo. you can search "w810i no operator logo" on google and easily found a premade layout.xml
debranding should remove your protected files, however, with cid50 phones, most of us have find the protected files are still there after debranding (probably cuz of the new security features on the CID50 version firmwares), so you can remove the files with a simple delete script using setool2lite

the protected files I am talking about are for instance the ringtones, wallpapers, and apps/games on your phone that the phone will not let you delete. you decide which you want to keep/delete based on your preferences...they're non-essential files...trust me, although you can delete needed files on the phone with script, none of them are visible on your phone for you to know what to delete

How do I know what are the files inside my phone? Can you point me to a tutorial or something? Also, all VKP patches for W810i can they be applied to CID50?

CID50 phones are not patchable, and most likely will never be patchable (for free) because no one is working on hacking the security model

to delete protected files:
use FSX on XS++ 3.1 to see the files an directories on the FS of your phone, look for the file names you want to delete (this is the easiest way, there is a way to do it with setool2lite, which I figured out myself, before XS++ came out, but this way is much simpler).

For example, if there's a protected wallpaper on your phone called "Blue Violet", chances are the filename will be something like blueviolet.jpg or blueviolet.png.

then go to the setool2lite thread here on se-nse, and read the_laser's info on how to make scripts to use with setool2lite, you will want to focus on the instructions for the delete script. very simple to make, just use notepad. the directories and file names you use in the script are from what you saw on your phone with FSX.

For instance, if you wanted to delete a protected ringtone called "Jamming" on your phone, and using FSX, you saw it was located on your phone in "/folder1/folder2/folder3/folder4/jamming.mp3", you would use "/folder1/folder2/folder3/folder4/jamming.mp3" in your delete script.

this is very simple to do, i figured it out by myself when i first started customizing my phone through basic logic and no real phone knowledge back then, so there is no real tutorial for this as far as I know, and you should be grateful i was willing to spell it out for you. if you don't understand my instructions, don't bother asking me to clarify because it's pretty clear, it just means you probably shouldn't proceed with this for the safety of your phone.

This pretty much wraps up all you can really do to customize your W810i CID50 phones at a regular phone user level. Anything that you can do to customize your W810i CID50 phone is described if not in the first post (one more time, big thanks to stuckfugu for posting and starting the thread), then it's somewhere in this thread (it's only a 5 page thread, so don't whine).

The limit of customization on a W810i CID50 phone has been reached for the regular phone user. So any other questions regarding this thread will be ignored, because there's a 99% chance that it's already been addressed in this thread, and you were just too lazy to search it yourself (no one really needs to help you if you're not willing to help yourself first).

Please do not post on a completed thread.

I write because a lot of comments are made about Rogers and warranty. I have used Rogers for years, first thing I do is debrand a phone when I get one. I have had warranty issues taken care of by them. I didn't mention the debrand and neither did they. Because of that I don't believe it voids the warranty.

Well, I flashed my w810i with the mediteer soft and it worked wonderfull, For all u guys that downloaded the latest Far manager and latest Xs++, DOn't dowload them ... i had some issues with both and could't flash it! It seems that they have some bugs like Xs++ blocking in the flash progress and far manager blocking while reading the w810i FS... so i downloaded some old versions of the software and it worked beautyfully except some flash menus don't show up ... So my question is, Is it possible to make w810i use OS completley in flash lite? I wuld undertake the ideea of making an OS in flash lite , It would in turn look beautyfully just like Apple's I-phone... I'm just wondering. I'm kind of fed up with Java:))

Any links/evidence? Seems rather unlogical to me, especially because w810 isn't quite a new model anymore, I guess not a lot of people trying to hack it anymore..

@Muffyn & others trying to supress camera sound using the tpa_customization.zip file: while custumizing your phone, open tpa\preset\custom\customize.xml (that file is inside the customization package you had to download using this topic's tutorial, to be download on iprotebe.cz), and find the rule where it says something like supresscamerasound=false, change that in true. Edit any other options you want, and then flash your phone (as described in first post!!check how you do it!) with that new customize.xml file.
