Globox360
Hi, First of all sorry for my Bad english... I'm Dutch! byebye.gif
I'm gonna show you how to change the colour of your Camera led's, its verry simple!

First of all, What u need:
  • SE W810i
  • Tiny screwdriver
  • Transparent paper with a colour that u may like (i used blue for example).
  • Brains smile.gif
1. Opening the Case
First take ur battery cover off, then remove the battery and ur sim card. you'll see 2 tiny screws(Dont lose them!), Remove them using a small screwdriver as you see below.

2. Removing the second Case
Now when the screws are off, we can remove the second case, to do this just use a flat screwdriver or knife as you see below. But watch out! we dont wanne damage the phone!

3. Placing the paper
Now we can place the paper you have chosen on the led's, just make it in the right form to fit.
then place them on the led as you see below. (i used 2 layers of paper to make the colour more intens.)

4. Put it all back together!
Now easy put the case back on, (it says *click). then put the screws back in,
Put back ur battery and sim, start ur phone and see the effect! thumbsup.gif

Nice job, only thing is the paper might start burning when you keep the led on for too long lol.gif
Snowiffic
Cool Idea !

it also works with the PSP tongue.gif

lol.gif
Globox360
Works With PSP? How? PSP Has no led... Only Display... LOL
FreekaleeK
off topic, but psp has 4 leds, memory card, wifi, power and charing, theyre easily changed, and also look good when you put a crystal case on and then put some in random places to make your psp all light up, and flash to the beat of your music! Lol, www.acidmods.com

That is REALLY cool... I would've never thought to just put transparent color paper over the led or the keypad... I should give it a try =) BTW, since the default w810 keypad LED is orange, what do I do to change it? Put lots of sheets over it?
mirko750
cool.gif ...here is mine.. cool.gif
Wally_Dog
Aww so cool! Would transparent tissue paper(for crafts etc.) work too? Or can you use candy wrappers? Anyway I'm pissed... I can't find a screwdriver to remove the screws... and any tips to get the screws off without stripping them?
Nabillionaire
Excellent trick, I'm going to test this on my friends W810i.
josefcool25
good job my bro.. does it work with the k750 too because we can change the keyboard colour in the k750.
Wally_Dog
josefcool25: Yes you can change the color of the keyboard LED's on a k750, but you must take off the keypad and then put a sheet underneath it.

I'm sooooo mad!!! I can't find a screwdriver small enough to unscrew it!
Dazmo
Nice tut. Im not gonna try it though, The light gets really hot after few mins of use.. Dont want it catching fire or anything. tongue.gif
Wally_Dog
Yay!!! I went to the local drugstore on my bike and bought a "7 Piece Presicion Screwdriver Set" for $2.00... lol it's really precision for $2.00 -.- Anyway yeah I'm gonna do it... and since I never really use it as a flashlight (takes up to much battery) it'll just be a cool modded effect. I was thinking though: I have a flexible plastic CD cover that is very dark tinted blue... would that work?
YouSmeg118
Im gonna go down to asda and buy somethin to go over it now laugh.gif

Just thought I'd post this as a warning... be extremely careful NOT to strip the screws on the second case like I did... It's a little loose now and I can't tighten! Anyway to fix the screw?
YouSmeg118
ohmy.gif

i bought a torx 6 (or whatever its called) screwdriver
cost me 5 quid but it opens the phone great laugh.gif

Which one? on top of the screen? behind the battery (near the sim card)?
Wally_Dog
The two screws that hold the part with the camera on... awww dang like on either side of the battery closest to the top if you take the battery cover off.
93bh
I think you need another screws.

What part of the screws did you strip? If it was the head of the screws then this doesn't apply to you. If it was the thread inside the plastic middleplate then try this:
- The quickfix is to put a tiny drop of superglue on the screws and then get them in the right position tightened. It should compensate for any gaps in the material. That's what I did with the 2 screws in the corners, that hold the middleplate and the front plate.
- The longfix is to replace the middleplate.

Anyways, I took this mod to a higher level. I changed a SMD LED myself. So now I have a white one and 2 blue ones. The reason for putting 2 blue ones is that I couldn't find such large LEDs like the white ones so I bought 2 smaller blue ones and soldered them to that tiny PCB, if I can call it that way.
Wally_Dog
Unfortunately, it was the head of the screw. Fortunately, I recently dismantled an Atomic clock, and I think the screws it used are the ones in the housing of my phone smile.gif
MisterToine
Did the same with my W810 last year. It looks cool, but it's difficult to take a picture in the dark.
