I thought I'd post my reply, from another forum, to someone who thought I was slamming uroszg's efforts:

@[anonymous]: I never said it was a bad theme nor a bad idea. It's just too easy to bypass. Also, the Calls key can't be disabled - as a result one's Calls list is still exposed - although the Nav pad and Shortcut assignments can. And, it's rather inconvenient to have to disable assignments as one has probably programmed them for a specific reason - like to make certain features more accessible.

I'm not slamming the person's work - so, if you think that's what I'm doing, you have the wrong idea. However, I do feel some critical thinking is wise when dealing with security related issues. I'd rather know exactly where the weak spots are on a system so that I'm not surprised when someone else discovers them, and they will.

In a perfect world, SE would have placed this sort of password protection in the firmware. The further away from the firmware one goes, for security related functions, the easier it is to defeat.

As I'm sure you can all see, I am in no way trying to negate uroszg's efforts.

Oh good god, now I get sworn at for doing critical analysis. Like I said, I was not slamming the guy's work. Just showing him the blind spots, period.

I used to work in IT - for about 20 years to be exact. Therefore, I am security conscious when it comes to computer systems, because I used to be paid a lot of money to analyse them. And, cell phones are mobile computer systems - even if they are rather simple compared to a mainframe or a server farm.

It would negligent of me not to tell uroszg how his security implementation could be defeated. If I had done this myself I would most certainly want to know if it could be easily defeated. And, then I would decide whether I'd want to continue with the project as-is - because at the Flash menu level there's nothing more that can be done to close the security gap - or just release it with a warning that a security gap exist.

I'd suggest you think carefully next time before you start swearing at people. Those people may actually be trying to do you a favor.

I just found another security gap: Even with the Nav pad and Shortcut key assignments disabled/removed - and please remember that while the Nav pad assignments can be disabled, the Shortcut key is still active, even without assignments - one can still press the Shortcut key, scroll down to "New Shortcut", press "Add", and be presented with the Main Menu - in the phone's default format, not the password protected Flash menu - and get to anything one wants after the assignment has been made.

Anyone familiar with SE cell-phones' OS functions would probably work this out in under a minute.

Sorry, uroszg, but this function you're trying to implement really needs to be done at the firmware level to be effective.

Here you are 10 Orbit Pass flash menus with different codes, i think everyone will find password for himself!

And bug fix: in last version when you pressed wrong number message "wrong password" was show you right away its wrong code and now message will appear after you enter all 4 code (if they are wrong or right).

1 password menu have the same codes but it come in 3 version, in first there is password on messages and file manager, in second in messages, file manager and entering main menu and third messages, file manager, entering main menu and vibration!

i cant test it for your phone, i have just w810 and i am doing flash menus for that model just and i dont know for other models, maybe works..
