This is weird! We have been talking about this for so long and browing the forums 10 times a day for the past 5 months and now its finally there!

With regard to "Sofia" I must say I'm a bit stunned about the design. I realise that there might be changes to it before it is released. For instance I think that alot of people would miss the lense cover. It makes it look less camera like. The other this is that I can't for the life of me understand how that d-pad is supposed to work! Again, is this likely to be subject to change perhaps? Wouldn't mind having some insider comment on this .

All in all it does look promising though. Especially the seemingly large display.

With regard to "Elena" (or is it "Maria"?) I'm pretty sure this will be my next phone! The only thing I miss on me M600 is a camera. The brushed aluminium also looks yummie!

network testing probably started around janurary....... i was told that protos for network testing started to be made on Jan 9th, but that there were protos already around before them ones.... id say a good couple months or so......

its just a proto though guys, no lens cover.... final version may come to have a lens cover....

i like the SE green light though for the dpad and the SE green circle around the cam, i hope they keep it there, would be cool... if its not too bright, it shouldn effect the photos........... again just a proto, should have a couple little changes in end version, wait until that is showed..... maybe it have lens cover then.....

So this seems to be not Sofia... the proportions are also more M-series... layout of keypad etc.

I was SO looking forward for Sofia. It was to be the successor of my K750. I'm an Ericsson fan/user since my T65.

But this "thing", this k850i, if true, is just about the ugliest piece of CE gear I have EVER seen.

My only hope is that since these pictures were taken in December, if the time-stamp is correct, maybe they have changed the design since then.

I agree that K850 is not the nicest looking phone we've seen but if the 5mp cam ends up being something I'm sure many of you would overlook a flaw or two...

M610i design is nice but colour a bit dull.
i hope the walkman variant W980i will be in brighter metallic colour like the W880i.

The three things across the bottom of the screen on the first phone look interesting, perhaps they relate to the three options which appear on screen on the UIQ 3 phones......

That is because it is quite possibly a photo of the dis-assembled keypad alone.

I like both phones. Both has the stealthy techie look, and mysterious enough to take a bit of figuring out. So many parts about the Sophia that keep us guessing: the D-pad, the 3 dots below the screen, My type of phone!! And the Elena has got a curious mix of future retro look going on. Sony Ericsson has gone eccentric of late-- I like it!!

Now I'm holding my breath.

I have to say that the K850i is really ugly, and I imagine that those tiny buttons will start hurting your fingers after doing some texting. Also, you'll be doing ALOT of wiping to get rid of all the fingerprints from that piano finish.

The Elena's looking sweet, but i'll never understand why on earth they're so darn reluctant to put a decent flash in these new phones! I mean, come on, it's 2007 for crying out loud! Lack of a decent flash makes the camera pretty much useless in the evenings and at parties.

Is the xenon flash exclusive to the cybershot line? Do you guys think there'll be an Elena equivalent with a xenon flash out this year?
