Are there any dutch people here with a w810i who used the Far+sefp method (without bruteforcing) to flash their w810i?
If so, could you please contact me as i have some questions about which dutch pack to use (aswell as how to bring back the dutch language). I'm also curious about your experiences with it and if it's possible to walk me through it. I'm looking for fellow dutch people here as GOT doesn't allow this kind of discussion at their forum. lol. Ik wist wel dat er hier Nederlanders te vinden waren. Laat ik maar in het Engels doorgaan (is wel zo beleefd voor de rest).
I'm currently aware of the Far + sefp (non-bruteforcing) method for the w810i described over here: http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=7330 . I'm thinking about using this method to enable Flash menus and to enable the dutch language again (which was the original phone language at purchase, but for some reason was wiped out after an official SEUS update - a very well known problem among the dutch users). My questions are: - are there dutch users over here who reached these two goals (flash menus and dutch language) with the far+sefp method? With other words, is it safe? - which files do i have to use? I have no experience with this and i have no clue which files to use (there are so many of them. I'm reading about a fbn file, a custompack and a MAIN firmware from different regions and versions etc). This post has been edited by Wesly: 2007-02-05 22:40 |

Not dutch nor I have a w810i, but check this step by step made by safa http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtop...=#entry62334%29 it worked for me. Backup any files you delete or change, just in case. I noticed there aren't language packs for your phone at topsony. Maybe some of the dutchmen can post their menu and t9 files (nl.lang and nl.t9 i would imagine). I believe they are fw version specific. This post has been edited by brlock: 2007-02-06 00:56 |

lol, daar ik de tut. geschreven heb.. ff in english:
just a note: safa's method is very risky!! I read about people having many problems with this.. But don't worry, EUROPE_3 has the Dutch language embedded. at first, i also experienced the loss of dutch phone language and not being able to choose it. In the beginning the phone language was dutch, but after some time it shortly went to English, WITHOUT the ability of choosing Dutch back again at the settings-menu. Very strange, because i browsed my w810i and DID found the language files nl.lang & nl.t9... So I just wanted it back and tried to unbrand my phone again I just backupped all things and again flashed FS & MAIN with custompack 75, using XS++ and FAR (to upload the custpack manually) and now I have Dutch as phone language back... I used: MAIN = W810_R4EA031_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED49.mbn FS = W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_3_RED49.fbn custpack = CDA102494_75_EUROPE_3 (attached) well, suc6 !! P.S. don't use SEUS, SEUS is USE-LEUSS This post has been edited by pisanggoreng: 2007-02-06 01:28

Wetend dat een van de belangrijkste tutorial door een Nederlander is geschreven brengt absoluut vertrouwen. So these are the files i should use with the far + sefp method? MAIN = W810_R4EA031_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED49.mbn FS = W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_3_RED49.fbn custpack = CDA102494_75_EUROPE_3 (attached) Is there any page that explains what all these files are and their purposes? I understand that the mbn file is the firmware. But what is a custompack? And since when does a filesystem has to be flashed (that's a first for me)? Read it more closely. pisanggoreng tells you to flash MAIN and FS with XS++ and then only use FAR to copy the custompack. Just unpack it and copy all the files to /tpa/preset/custom. Just remember to don't tick Customization in XS++. You will do it FAR. Take care |

@pissanggoreng. thanks a lot for your tut

Zie hieronder.
I tried the far+sefp method and it worked out alright (thanks again for the great tutorial, pisanggoreng). I was succesful in enabling the flash menus (though it took two tries. The first time i just copied all the custpack files including the customize.xml with "<enable-flash-desktop>true</enable-flash-desktop>". This had no effect at all so i tried a second time, but this time i also deleted the blank file "DisableFlashDesktop" in the "tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash" dir. This seemed to do the trick) and disabling the shutter sound (this also took two tries. I thought that the "<supress-camera-sound>true</supress-camera-sound>" entry in customize.xml would take care of it, but the shutter sound was still there in silent-mode. I replaced the shutter 3gp soundfiles with blank files and that does work, but to be honest i prefer the solution of being able to switch between working shuttersound in normal mode and no shuttersound in silent-mode). However i still have no dutch language This is the situation on the phone at the moment: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the phone language settings only the options "according to sim" and "english" is displayed. Does anybody know a solution for the dutch language problem (or the camera sound)? |

Yes, I had the exact same problem!! Don't know why Dutch didn't show up there... It was there, for 2 hours, and after that it just disappeared..... Try a master settings reset (after copying proper custpack) or else, try flashing your whole FS (BACKUP first!) btw FS = .fbn = filesystem image MAIN = .mbn = MAIN firmware custpack = collection of files = installation files that are needed for first bootup (when booting from a NEW FS or when doing master (settings) reset) This post has been edited by pisanggoreng: 2007-02-06 23:37 |

I'm close to giving up on that issue (read: i'm growing accustomed to the english menus That file description is very useful. Just now i understand exactely what i did and why. But if the FS is a image of the full filesystem,...doesn't that include the custpack aswell? If so, then why did i had to copy the files of the custpack again (weren't they already placed on the phone with the fs flash)? Or can the first bootup not read files of the flashed fs image? |

Or can the first bootup not read files of the flashed fs image? no, filesystems are per region (EUROPE_1, AMERICA_1, ASIA etc), and custpacks are files that finalize the filesystem for use in your country (for example ORANGE, TMOBILE, TELFORT, KPN all want specific options enabled/disabled) |
