Hi guys, I had recently added a z530i to my collection, however i remembered that it had been advertised with having flash lite, however I did not detect any prescence of it?, After some resaerch I came across people having problems opening flash files with their z530, as you can do it with a w810 wich supports flash lite, it opens the flash file in the web browser. Then i contacted SE, here is what they said:

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Center.

In regards to your inquiry, we have spoken to Research & Development about this and they informed us that the Z530i supports Flash Lite animations up to a file size of about 30k.

However, they also let us know that Flash Lite was not included on some CDA´s (customizations), so if you are unable to use Flash Lite on your phones (keeping in mind the files size limitations) than Australia´s CDA does not include Flash Lite. You can not get the flash lite on the phone if the CDA does not support it. This would be the carrier did not want it include. Access of those Software is CDA control which mean Australian phone a particular CDA can only flash those software available for Australia CDA. The more important question now is does Australia CDA support flash lite. You might want to clarify this with our network/carrier provider who customized your handset.

Best Regards,

Well, it then struck me that the z530 is SE's version of a stingy budget phone, what is the use of having flash lite if it is restricted to only files of 30kb, thats plain stupid, i mean for a phone that has a big enough internal memory and supports expandle memory!

A bit of a let down indeed, seems a strange limit. Perhaps it is due to the phones resources rather than storage space though
