Will the X10 be a hit success or a damp squib?

It could be a hit if they release it in January. For me the most disappointment comes in its lack of Android 2.0 other than that is is a very decent phone from SE.
I have this feeling that SE's going to delay this (because they are faar from ready with it) till around late February early March. There's bound to come something that is better equipped from either HTC or Samsung if they go beyond January on its release. Releasing it in January gives it some room to breathe and chart its own course as opposed to following the others. -------------------- It is not what you do or even how you do it but in what state of mind you do it.

This phone is SE's savious and will get their reputation back on track, IF they release it in time!
@ Dups The Android version will be listed a 1.6 as 2.0 isn't out yet. I can't see any reason why the 2.0 update won't be available later. I would suspect you're right on the 2.0 front Mik. I can't see them not offering an upgrade.

I find it rather disconcerting that SE hasn't come out and clearly stated that they will upgrade this to Android 2.0.
There are quite a few reports or previews of the phone that suggest there will be an upgrade but as long as SE isn't saying anything then it is futile to believe otherwise. I guess it's a matter of wait and see and hope SE does come out and support this with Android 2.0. -------------------- It is not what you do or even how you do it but in what state of mind you do it.

I suppose that on announcement day SE may not want to suggest anything negative about the handset by saying 'this will be upgraded' implying the current OS is crap.
