Hi all and thanks in advance for any suggestions
Have a non-branded and unlocked w705; purchased new in Caribbean; brought to US; put in ATT sim card and phone functioned fine for a couple of weeks. Suddenly stopped dead. Tried to flash, XS++ does not recognize; found the suggestion to hold 2-5 and with that, SEtool Lite recognizes the phone but I then found out my phone is A2 (which is unfamioliar to me; i have flashed several other handsets with XS++ but this is first time with A2) Read akshayy's tutorial on "Red Light Flashing Bring Back to Life" which says either dead battery or bad EROM. Plugged phone in for several hours - (will it charge at all with a bad EROM?) Downloaded A2uploader tool (many thanks to the creator) and will not connect with "C" but did 2-5 connect and get following lines: ------------------------------ ChipID: E800, EMP Protocol:0401 BOOTROM MODE DETECTED cant get NET header cant load ACCESS CPU preloader phone pre-boot failed; possible RECOVERY needed Elapsed: 43 Secs ------------------------------- is this a sign of a bad EROM? any suggestions? if EROM is bad, where do I locate one and how do I flash it? or is this phone just completely bricked? - Scott |

ok i had took out the battery every time yesterday whilst trying the different tools and did it again today with same results.
i went and DL'd Update Service and connected the phone to that using the deadboot 2-5 keys and it tells me that No New Software is available.... blah blah phone already has the latest software installed. perhaps it is something as simple as a bad battery? so i am off to the stores in town and see if i can dig up a new battery and will charge that new one for a few hours and re-try. its funny because yesterday SEUS would not recognize the phone at all!!! thanks for the suggestions, i am off in search of a new battery! - scott |
