W995 Sms Delivery Reports Options

Hi, I have been looking through the menu.ml for my W995, and I have noticed a few things under the messaging section that don't appear on the phone.

See below for the section I am talking about:

I would like to know how, if it is possible to get the delivery report to work, this part is highlighted in red. I know the phone recieves the delivery reports as when sending sms through my-phone-explorer you can request them and receive them, however this is the only thing I have found in the phones FS that relates to delivery reports.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

On your phone goto: Messages > Settings > Text Message > Delivery Report > On

Thanks, but maybe I didn't make myself clear in my original post, this option does not exist in the phone, but it is in the menu.ml, which is why I want to know how to make it appear in the phone.

Don't understand you....... it is already in our phone...

go to Menu>>Messaging>>Messages>>Settings>>(here you will see 3 tabs, 1st tab is "Message Settings")>>Delivery report>> on/off

giving you screen shot.... it is just in between validity period & signature.. (as it is in the menu.ml)

If I knew how to post screenshots I would to show you that I definately don't have the delivery report option in my phone.
All I have in the menu is:

Message alert
Save to
Categories
Signature
Creation mode
Picture resolution
Auto download
Accept messages
Voicemail number

so I am missing: Validity period, Delivery report, Text layout, and Web storage.

My phone is de-branded so shouldn't be affected by operator customisation. Maybe I should try a different area firmware, I currently using western europe.

Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have Validity period, Delivery report

But i dont have Text layout, and Web storage..... does anyone has these 2 options in their w995 at all????

I updated it using SEUS.... i am not using (or never had) any branded main or firmware.. try updating with SEUS.....
I am using Generic West European CDA...

CDA Number - 1209-4774
CDA Revision - R6A
Languages - en, eu, ca, nl, fr, gl, de, pt, es, tr, pl .... [English, Basque, Catalan, Dutch, French, Greenlandish, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Polish)

Thanks for your reply, I think from what you have said I may try and flash a new MAIN and FS, as I have already done an update via the customize_upgrade.xml trick using the same CDA settings as you mentioned above, although when I look in the settings menu I am given the following software version 1215-7995, and it states that there is no CDA.

Maybe I did something wrong when I de-branded. Have you ever had to do the customize_upgrade.xml trick to get updates or have you just connected to SEUS for the updates?

Any other suggestions let me know.

No CDA means you used customize_upgrade after the phone was flashed but the customize_upgrade never contained any CDA data.

Change CDA to 1209-4774 and then update.

Thanks for that, I used the following customize_upgrade.xml, when I recently upgraded to R1GA026 (had to do this as SEUS didn't want to upgrade otherwise):

Is there something wromg with the above or should I be do something else, other than put this in tpa/preset/custom and then turn on the phone, wait until 'please wait' disappears, then turn off the phone and update with SEUS? As this is all I have done.

Yes, that CDA seems right . You could also try to use 1209-4784 which is for Central-Europe.

I did use customized_upgrade.xml trick for updating my firmware..... used SEUS.... but it seems it is not working in your phone....

did you try flashing it manually with r1ga026 main & fs & cda???

Well I have no idea how to sort this now.

I have just reflashed my phone with a generic main, western-europe fs and custompack, yet I still don't have the delivery report or validity period in my message settings.

I don't know what else to try.....

Any help greatly appreciated.

Just been looking on the net and found this customize_upgrade.xml for getting conversations view in messaging on a G705/W715. I just wondered if would be possible to do something similar to get the delivery report working.
