W995 R1g Nobrand + Orange Homescreen (sidebar) Options

What You will get:



A completely clean phone, with all the original no-brand menus, with flash support,with all the original no-brand SW installed, in Italian, English, German and French. On top of this You will get the very useful today/sidebar/homescreen (call it as You like) from orange versions.

No Orange settings or craplets are left on the phone, at the moment the only reminiscence of the Orange brand are the different icons (although most of them are hidden if you use a flash theme).

If anyone has a working procedure to replace the icons with the original ones, is obviously welcome.

And now lets go:

0) Download the package I prepared from the following link

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9H53JR3E inside the file there is all You need, The file PW is The_Solutor



1) Change the cda to the orange.ch one with a2uploader: upload the file customize_upgrade.xml in /tpa/preset/custom, TURN ON THE PHONE, then turn it off, then open SEUS and upgrade the FW.

Now your phone is completely Orange branded, turn it on if you are curios to see the orange customization, but this step is not needed.

2) flash the provided no-brand FS with a2uploader (when finished don't turn on the phone)


3) Now upload the modified/additional files on the related paths

/tpa/preset/custom <---- the Adriatic custom pack

/tpa/preset/system/language <---- the language files (en, it, de, fr are provided)

/tpa/preset/system/wap <---the browser home pages in different languages.


/tpa/preset/system/icons <--- the graphics needed by the home screen and the orange main


If you want the ability to enable and disable the sidebar


overwrite the file /tpa/preset/system/menu/menu.ml with the one I made for You. Download it here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9BIHD26V


Done ! turn on the phone.

Optional steps:




4) I've added some useful files: the customize_upgrade files to enable the 3g only menu, the one to enable the chat mode SMS and some working flash themes.

( upload the *.swf files in /tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash - and the *.thm one in /tpa/user/theme)

5) If you don't like this mod change the CDA with the supplied Adriatic one (or the your original cda) and upgrade again with SEUS.

P.S. this was originally made for an Italian only audience, so the screen-shots, and the instructions inside the package are in italian (sorry) so refer to this thread for the instructions.

At the moment I found only the Central Asia FS, so the mod is a bit longer than needed, if You have the R1G Orange main and the adriatic (or other european FS) please send me a PM.

i have russian fs.... but that is of r1fa035.. i think that will not work in r1g.. or will it??? i dont know..

I don't think that is a good idea to mix the versions, especially if one of them is the R1G, due to the major changes to the usb management.

I don't know about w595, but in general the older is the phone, the easier is the job.

Eg: to have the orange sidebar on a k850/w910 just flash an orange main plus a nobrand FS and custom pack and the job is done. The only file that has to be modified is the menu.ml (to have the home configuration menu, as shown above).

No. You need orange firmware.

I think i explained in my post this is branded, by flashing orange main you brand it and the orange firmware only accepts some languages afaik

I think i explained in my post this is branded

I think that isn't fair to call "branded" a phone w/o a single link, predefined configuration, custom sw other than the homescreen.

It's just a phone whit a custom icon set with a great app (IMHO) installed.

orange firmware only accepts some languages afaik

The orange FW accepts any R1G language file, but obviously the voices related to the HS are empty, and some others are customized (like voicemail ---> orange box).

If you want a lng file different than the provided ones, just start with a vanilla lng file and edit it with the lng editor, as I did.

Well i have a pc bt no inet connection.2nd tried op mini 5 and it can copy.bt there is no place or way 2 save it as a txt file.so pls upload it as a txt file so i can download it with op mini and add it 2 my menu with my pc

You can connect your PC to the internet, using w995's internet... check USB option in connectivity....
