Hey guys.

I recently got my k800i unlocked from Vodafone, and now it runs (I think) the latest SE software. However this has made my Pick Up button into a shortcut button for my internet browser and my Hang Up button opens up the shortcut menu. I want to restore their normal and made-to-be functions... =P

I joined here quite a few months back... I think - in search for some other mods for my k800i when I was still Vodafoney. I really remember reading somewhere that someone had managed to modify their Playback button to something else. Is it possible or was that person fibbing/I completely misread?

Speaking of which, I'd like to be able to do the same for my c903 (which is on 3 which is why I decided to unlock my phone). But I'll deal with one thing at a time first.

Thanks a lot in advance. ^^

The only way to get the hang up and anser buttons back to "normal" is by reverting back to the vodfafone firmware: on genric k800's the buttons are used for internet browser and activity menu.

However, there is an option to change the function of one of the buttons, but I dont think one of the options is to pick up or hang up

Oh... I see... >.< That's such a pain. I mean, even when I want to phone someone those buttons don't work as the Phone Them button.

But I'll still try to hope someone else will come along and prove you wrong. =P

If not... an unlocked, weird, but decent phone is better than a locked phone I suppose.

The functions you have now for those buttons are how sonyericsson.gif intended them to be and NOT how voda wants them to be.

Okay, I get it now - but since Vodafone have managed to change the buttons, isn't it possible to change the function of the buttons ourselves?

Patching can change the functions but not to use them as call/hang up. This function is integrated into the voda main. As said above, flashing back to voda fw is the only way to get that particular functionality of those keys back.
