My w995 randomly crashes sometimes and it's getting to be a bit annoying, usually it's when I'm using the music player, but I think it has happened at other times as well. I just got the latest firmware yesterday, and it hasn't crashed yet, but before it was something like one or two times a week. Should I be worried or is this "normal"?

Also since the latest firmware update some of the themes I've downloaded don't work anymore, either the file is said to be corrupted or if it does work it won't let me put up a wallpaper other than the theme one. It will say something like "phone memory full. Choose to delete files?", while there is still plenty of space on both the phone and memory card, and won't let me switch the background

Edit: I've done both a master reset and settings reset before and after updating firmware

I have to say my W995 has never crashed with the old FW, I have upgraded the FW a couple of days ago and I hope it stays crash free

About how long have you guys had your phones? I've had mine for about a month a it's crashed about 4 or 5 times, again today eve after I got the newest FW. It seems to only be when I use teh music player. Should I get it exchanged?

my W995 never crashed, but it sometimes randomly changes phone numbers of my contacts.. really annoying.
I got the phone for a month now. new update and reset did'nt fix the bug, just deleting the affected contact helped me, but that can't be a solution

The stickers falling off is another of the little niggles that I haven't suffered from

Right guys and girls. Ive had my W995 since the day of its release. Ive never had it crash on me but what i have had.. Which is actually worse is software/firmware malfunction.

My battery doesnt charge because it says its not an SE battery. My phone cant connect to any Network therefor it may aswell be a paper weight.

The first time it happend i sent it off to o2 and got it fixed. Ive had my phone back around about a month and the same problem has ocurred this morning. Its bloody annoying!!

Can i ask how did you all update your firmware?

Thats all i need to do to get my phone back working again. Only problem is SEUS doesnt detect my bloody phone! grrrr

My contacts get messed up sometimes too sad.gif

Aside from these bugs everything else is really nice about the phone, I hope they fix it soon

You update your firmware by downloading the Update software from SE, just google it, it gives very straight forward instructions.

Hi naitsabez, are you telling the truth? or just playing around? No phone does that number changing. Or if it is true, then there is a virus that is newly develloped by someone for java. Is it possible?

Jock, yes the name and 8.1megapixel sticker started coming off within a month. The service center said we do not give guarantee on cosmetic damages.

My phone gets restarted thrice a day in random.... i have to run memory-up in background all the time to prevent that.. laugh.gif

new firmware (r1ga026) is giving more trouble sad.gif

@Ketans

i never had such issue of changing numbers in this w995....... but my sister had a Spice mobile, which used to do that. (3 years ago) laugh.gif tongue.gif so, naitsabez may have been telling the truth.

So I got my phone back after sending it to sony ericsson and it still crashes. I've spent a while googling the issue already and I can't seem to find anything. Anyone come up with a suggestion yet? sad.gif

Edit: I too have the r1ga026 version of firmware

Should I try a downgrade or something?

Have had my phone for 3 months now. No crashes at all on any of the 3 FW it had. Did not test the first FW, it was updated just as the battery was charged the first time. Stickers on the back where gone in a month. Slider feels ok too. Closed it has a little movement (0.5 mm) in the down left corner in and out and the same sideways. Open it has 0.5 mm sideways at the bottom. No scratches on the display due to display shield. No change in the phone book.

I did mess up my calendar the first time, but it was because I installed my calendar backup before I set the correct time zone. So all birthdays where on 2 days after that. :-|

The W995 is the best SE I had so far, #2 is K800. The worst SE phone was W902. That one chrashed at least 1 time a day until a stable FW came out after a month. I did not like that one, bad battery cover, too dark display, poor media buttons on the side, poor camera, too silent back speaker.
