first of all i want to say high to everyone here and thanks to the site owner for creating such a useful forums for all of us.

One of my lady friend has a K800i which appeared to be dead one day after she switched a simcard and switched back.
According to her description, the phone couldnt turned on but the infrared port will blink for 5~6times when she pressed the on button.
(After reading through a lot of threads in this forum i am awared that the EROM of the phone is corrupted and it can be fixed by reflashing the EROM, but...read on)

However even before she comes to me, she brought that phone to a phone shop and ask whether they could fix it. The shop took the phone for few days and then informed her that some ic chip in the phone is broken (:censored:) and they could changed the chip with (expensive) fees. so she took back the phone and seek for my help.

But when it reaches my hand, the infrared port no longer blinks when u hit the on button. Duh. i wonder what did the shop do to the phone.

So my mission is to revive this K800i phone and help here to retrieve some important data inside.

I diagnosed the phone and discover these:
1. the phone doesnt respond to the on switch at all.
2. Holding C/2+5 and connecting the datacable with XS++/wotan/kkclient running doesnt give any respond too. all of the softwares couldnt detect the phone.
3. if i plug in the charger, stagnant white screen appears, and the wsod stays even u unplug the charger, u have to remove the batt to turn off.
4. if i hold C and plug in the data cable first (which gives no respond), and then unplug the cable, plug in the charger, white screen wont show.

Im using vista and i didnt have another SE phone to plug in and let me install the flash driver first, so i wonder whether this is the problem why my pc cant detect a hald-dead phone?
And there should be no problem to the batt as she said she tried her batt with other phone and its working.
and no, i dont have the GDFS backup sad.gif

So any suggestion/guide for me on how to fix the mess? Thanks in advance.

In that case, theres not you can do, unless you hand it over to a SE service centre and pay for it to be repaired
