Recently got a new phone so took my w810i out of service after continuous service for nearly 3 years. It was working flawlessly.

I turned off the phone, took off the battery, took my sim card out, put the battery back in, and left the phone for about 3 days. So now I go to power it back up to get my contacts out, and I can't! It just won't turn on. I thought the battery must have gone flat, so I hooked it up to the charger, and which time I noticed a solid red light when connected to the charger - it doesn't go off - it stays on when the phone is connected to the charger. It goes off the moment I disconnect the phone. I left it like this for 2 hours (longer than is needed for a complete charge) and tried to power the phone on - nothing!

Phone will not turn on!

Does anyone know what's wrong with my w810i?

Hi,

Yes I downloaded XS++, removed the battery, connected the USB cable, pressed 'connect' on XS++, held down the C button, and inserted the battery, and it simply wouldn't turn on.

It's almost like I'm trying to turn the phone on without the battery in it - I get no flashing red light under the infra red panel that I normally get on low battery, I get NOTHING! However when hooked up to the charger, the red light is on.

Tried that too, did the part where you have to hold the "C" button, and nothing happened.

The phone just wont turn on!

Its not meant to turn on when you connect to SEUS or XS.

Connect to XS and post the log. If it wont, try connecting with 2 and 5 keys.

I would leave it on charge for a lot longer than 2 hours: try 4 minimum

Have just left it overnight, and it won't turn on.

Here is thel og for the XS++ - First with 2+5, then with C button. What I'm doing is removing the battery, holding C button, putting in battery, and then connecting USB cable, (same process for 2+5, but I press 2+5 instead of C button) however XS++ doesn't pick it up. Is this the right process?

I take it you have the flash drivers installed?

Hey,

I understand about the flash drivers now. However the problem is that the phone won't turn on - when I turn it on holding "C" button, my computer doesn't detect any new USB devices at all. Nothing new shows up in device manager!

Why are you trying to turn it on? Remove the battery, reinsert then connect holding C. Hopefully computer will detect SEMC Flash device.

Ah ok, so I

1. Remove battery
2. Insert battery
3. Hold "C" button
4. Press "connect" button on XS++
5. Connect USB cable to phone

And still got nothing.

I also got my multimeter out and measured the battery, it came up with 0.005 volts BST-37 should be 3.8 volts at least. I think the problem is that the phone is not charging the battery at all - and therefore I can't turn it on to fix it. Is there anything I can do short of obtaining another phone that uses BST-37 batteries and charging the battery?

Why is this happening? I read somewhere that if the battery goes 100% flat then the phone can't charge the battery anymore - is this true?

Well that appears to be the case since I left the battery in the phone overnight, with the phone plugged into the wall charger, with the RED LIGHT on at the top of the phone - and the battery was still reading at 0.005 volts in the morning.

Any other suggestions at all? I really don't want to have to go down the path of getting another battery or phone to charge this in, since I don't know anyone that uses this type of battery or phone.
