Hi everyone.

Over the last week I've spent many hours scrubbing these forums for information on how to change certain aspects of my phone, the W705. In particular, graphical editing.

After seeing what some users have done to their phones (Change battery and signal indicators, menu icons, acoustic packs, fonts etc etc.) I thought I would give it a shot myself and downloaded the A2 Uploader.

I've managed to change fonts, acoustics and menu icons without much difficulty, no flashing involved. What I really want to do is design my own battery/signal indicators and use them in place of the stock ones.

Throughout the forums I've come across terminology such as Elves, patching, .vpk files, .mbn files, .babe files, hex editing and what have you, sort of hard to grasp with the extensive cultures on the board resulting in a bit of broken English now and there.

What I'm asking is, with the following details regarding my phone:
- ChipID:E800,EMP protocol:0401
- PHONE STATE: "RETAIL"
- FLASH CID: 0052
- OTP LOCKED:1 CID:52 PAF:1 IMEI:35180603191599 CERT:RED
- LDR:2008-07-23 11:47 1202-0422_DB3210_EXPLORER_LOADER_APP_SDRAM_R2A065
- LDR CAPS:SYSTEM FLASH GDFS FILESYSTEM TA
- LDR:2009-04-21 18:29 1202-0421_DB3210_CS_LOADER_ACC_SDRAM_R2A081
- LDR CAPS:SYSTEM FLASH SIGNATURE AUTH

Firstly, is it possible to mod the battery/signal icons with this model of firmware and phone?

Secondly, can anyone provide a straight-forward guide as to what software and procedures I would need to follow in order to extract the .png icons (For battery/signal) and in turn replace it with my own .png's?

Thirdly, would this involve any warranty-voiding flashing?

Thanks guys, any help would be greatly appreciated on this one.

Dicko.

W705 is DB3210, and we can't patch DB3210 at the moment! wink.gif
So you can't change your Battery icons etc.

As far as I know the W705 is not that new...any ideas when the DB3210 firmware will be patchable?
